Could A Past President Become Vice President?

If libs hate it it’s great for America.
If he could get the two term limit rescinded before election time, I’d say, great. I’d vote for him yet again.

But I sure as hell don’t want any President to be “appointed.” And that was why I basically disagreed with your previous post.

And that means that Trump could , therefore, be elected VP. He is not eligible to run for his own third term. But he certainly is eligible for a half a term.
Tell this imbecile that people cannot run for "half f a term" whatever the eff that is

Yet again That is so cultish.

You've "heard different answers for this?" How very odd, strange, weird even. Why would anyone want to? Far too many reasonable statements we could make, but not sure we could keep our composure.

The National Constitution Center serves as America’s leading platform for constitutional education and debate.

Two-Term Limit on Presidency
Section 1
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section 2
This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

"The US Constitution does state that: a US Vice President can serve out a partial term of two years or less (acting as President) and then run for election to two full four-year presidential terms. This is allowed under the 22nd Amendment, which caps total service at 10 years (two years of a predecessor's term + two elected terms"
[URL='https://termlimits.com/how-long-can-the-u-s-president-serve-in-office/']How long can the U.S. President Serve in Office?
  • The 22nd Amendment’s key provision:
    • It states that “no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.”
  • What this means:
    • If a vice president (or another successor) takes over the presidency and serves more than two years of the previous president’s term, they are then only eligible to be elected to the presidency one additional time.

Toddsterpatriot "No, if they already served 2 terms." B-in-g-o! Technically correct, because nobody would be President and then VP who then fills in @ years before running for President again. That scenario is extremely improbable. So, a VP who serves filling-in for two years, only gets to run for two full terms after.
tl;dr

I think the days of the Democratic party having at least some common sense are long gone and not ever coming back. They've been seized and overtaken by the radical element in their party. They'll never again admit that biological men should never be participating in women's sports, that gender is determined by inherited chromosomes (not thoughts), and that a secure border where everyone that comes in here must be vetted is an absolute necessity.

I believe this is permanent because there just aren't enough good people left over there that will stand up to it. The left-wing lurch started under Obama and it's only gotten worse. Americans must stand tall against them.

I've heard different answers for this. Me personally, I love Trump's policies but I'm sick and tired of his mouth. However, I wouldn't really complain if he could become vice president either. Although I'm really hoping for a Vance and Rubio ticket in 2028. 😁
Trump's done after this term. Plan accordingly.
He's put in some serious work. Good on him, but things need to keep going without him.
He has shown the way to do things. Largely because apparently a lot of others in America forgot or never knew or something. We need to let it not be in vain.

buttercup if libs hate it you can be sure it’s GREAT for America.

Were you talking about Don, or one of his sons? I don't care what the libs hate, we don't need an 85 year old president who recently hit a record low approval rating...and even many of his own supporters have stated they don't want a third term.

I can't disagree with anything you've said there. :dunno: I would want a Republican to win, just not Don the Con.

ETA: I should clarify something. Ideally I would want a third party candidate to win... someone who will follow the constitution, who isn't corrupt or sold out, someone who is America first and values liberty and has conservative principles. But when I said "I would want a Republican to win" I meant between the D candidate and the R candidate... which is the "choice" it always comes down to. Not that I'm going to vote. If Massie were to run, I would vote for him, but I highly doubt that will happen.

My preference right now is for Rubio in 2028. Many of the same exact policies without all the side shows.
