Could A Past President Become Vice President?

Never say never. It's never been tested in court. The constitution only states that you cannot be ELECTED president for more than 2 terms. But if you aren't elected and become president because the actual president leaves or dies, then you weren't elected.

But the 12th says someone ineligible to be president can't be VP, so I don't know. It's unchartered waters.
Look at the 22nd Amendment. You forgot the 10 year limit.

I believe it's rather simple, somebody that's ineligible to be president is also ineligible to be V.P.
Thus 1 term presidents can but 2 term presidents can't serve as V.P.
Except that Amendment itself says otherwise:

Twenty-second Amendment to the United States Constitution

Section 1.
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. ….
Two four year terms plus maximum of two more = ten years.

I've heard different answers for this. Me personally, I love Trump's policies but I'm sick and tired of his mouth. However, I wouldn't really complain if he could become vice president either. Although I'm really hoping for a Vance and Rubio ticket in 2028. 😁
I hope he can somehow appoint himself President on January 20, 2029

But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.
And that means that Trump could , therefore, be elected VP. He is not eligible to run for his own third term. But he certainly is eligible for a half a term.

No. If the 25th is invoked, the VP becomes literally “Acting President.”

But if the incumbent dies in office, the VP becomes the President.

Okay. I'll play sophomoric circle jerk with y'all

"if the incumbent dies in office, the VP becomes the President"

Not unless and until they are Sworn in.

If a President served only 1 term, I don't see any reason why he couldn't be VP. He just wouldn't be allowed to be President more than 1 term (if he became President again).
Explain in what reality a former Pres would desire being VP
