Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in an NBC News interview that he would be the first person to support Vice President JD Vance if Vance runs for president in 2028, while also saying he intends to remain focused on his current role in President Donald Trump’s administration.

Rubio made the comments when asked whether he would want to be president. He said:

I’m going to be in this job for the next two and a half years. I’m going to do that job. I’m going to finish the job for this president. I’m enjoying it very much. I think we’re going to make a lot of good things happen. JD is a very good friend of mine. If JD runs for president. I think he’d be a phenomenal candidate. I’ve said publicly, and I’ll say it again, I’ll be the first person to sign up and support him. I think JD would do great."

This would be the best ticket, akin to George Bush Sr. following Reagan as V.P and then president.

Reagan was the original MAGA, which Vance is, while GHWB was more of the Establishment, which Rubio is.

It greatly helped George Bush Sr. in his run in 1992 to have been V.P under Reagan. If not for Ross Perot, Bush wins his second term almost certainly. Perot was extremely critical of NAFTA and won an astounding 19% of the popular vote.

If Trump can promote MAGA again and care about his legacy as a fighter for America, he can set the GOP up for potentially 16 years of rule.

The key has been and remains Independents. This is where I feel he has lost the most ground after working so hard to take a chunk of Obama voters.

I would have voted for Ross Perot. We need strong, third party candidates. I just don't like the Republican Establishment. They've completely wrecked the economy in the last year and conceded on many of their promises. We need more deportations. We need more energy independence. We need more aggression in removing Chinese land ownership of the US. We need to stop building data centers, and start focusing on getting money back into the people's wallets instead of taxing them.

The rich are already taxed, simply taxing them more won't do much more - as they are already in bed with the government. The idea of raising taxes on the "rich" is a common one, but in practice, it doesn't do much. I am however in favor of budget cuts for the military, and ending most foreign aid.
