There was an interesting study out of Arizona or New Mexico the last time THEY had massive acreage of wild burn.. Turns out the Indians hold a large chunk of the areas and it's ADJACENT to State managed land.. The fires consumed vast amounts of the State land, not so much the Indian holdings. Because they "sustainably" salvage dead trees and wood and clear brush for game and maintain fire roads and grazing as their "forest mgt" policy....

All the things that are VERBOTEN to lefty's "virgin forest" mgt plan....
