Given my belief in the truth and not facts I went straight to the White House website and found this which may help explain things. Somewhere in there is a coherent thought or two about the delay. Besides Christmas the part about having another very good talk with liars was also given as a reason.

It’s really hard to know what his motives are for backing off the trade tariffs until December. I think there is a fair chance he did it to buoy the stock market which has been sinking the last 10 days or so.
