it's all about the spirit of jubilee, but it takes religion to explain that, not necessarily the politics secular, but it's enough to suggest that the people of california are squeezed hardest by it relative to the other states. they're slowly being driven into the pacific ocean. it wouldn't be so bad, but to add insult to injury, just as the ground is crumbling away beneath them, the woodlands are periodically set on fire. they need some kind of enclave swapping treaty with the other states, not secession from the union, but to establish outposts throughout the country. for example, maybe ohio trades toledo for bakersfield, or whatever, until mainland california extends along the pacific but the inland territory reorganized to balance the discrepancy between the eastern and western states. it's a theory, anyhow, good luck.
