If anyone is stupid enough to go to California, then you deserve all the misery they force upon you. Exit tax to punish those who have had enough.

Finance expert John Williams has recently analyzed California's new tax policies, which include the introduction of a wealth tax targeting affluent residents and an exit tax for those relocating out of the state.
These measures aim to address California's significant budget deficit, which has reached $68 billion. The state's approach to increasing revenue involves direct taxation on the assets of the wealthy, with additional scrutiny on asset reporting.
This is what happens when you allow Socialists/Marxists to rule the city, state, or country. They must have more, because they have to ruin every and make them all equal. Equally poor and equally miserable. And if you dare try to leave, you get punished for trying to leave such a screwed up state.

I dare you leftists to watch this Docuseries on Netflix. You might realize how screwed up your side is and what the end result can happen. Episode 5 where the Berlin Wall comes down, will be an eye opener.

the exit tax will never fly....

I love California. Just spent four months there. However, I’ll never permanently reside there. Too expensive, too woke, and my family would never join me.

The beatings will continue until morale improves... :laughing0301:

Just watch, the younger, greasier biden will take the nomination and the stuttering fuck will be shit-canned in Aug.

Let's take this national....

They have an exit tax already built in; for instance, if you leave in January, you will pay California income tax on all the money you made in another state the rest of the year. When I moved out, it was form X, don't know what it is now. No deductions for moving expenses, taxes paid in the state you moved to, etc. This was in the late 1990's, so it may have changed, but I doubt it. They base it on the line of your Fed 1040 before any deductions and write offs are subtracted..

I live in California dip shit and you do not know what the fuck you are talking about.

IF you are a business and moving out state, yes there is a tax....IF your business is worht $30M. Same for a person who has $30M in the bank. The average Californian does not have to pay that tax. FYI, other states do the exact same fucking thing.

yes, you live in california, you missed the part where this about the people leaving california, which you are not one of, so how do you know what a person leaving the state is experiencing.

Further, it is not the person you are replying to that you disagree with, but a documentary that is exposing the facts.

Poor people cant leave california, california pays the poor too much to stay. Like the free health care that all poor people have always gotten in california. But, the poor people are also trapped, because they can not afford the gasoline to move, or the the extra high price of a Moving Van/Truck/Trailor

This is partly a problem with the Feds allowing states to control Federal aid programs; Federal programs should stay with the individual where ever they go in the U.S. Letting states control it just makes people in slums captives of the local political machines and the gangs that partner with them.

A few decades ago, if you left Philly selling your home there was a 3 per cent escape tax. If you stayed in the city there was none.

My daughter simply sold all the stuff she could not get into the car she bought to exit the state and drive to Virginia in.

I mean it was a used Honda Accord but still half the price of what it would have cost her to rent a U-Haul.

How does that not violate Article IV? Seems folks in California crap on the Constitution as often as they crap on the streets.

California has a huge Congressional delegation; nobody wants to stand up to them and have their own pork and graft cut, so they pretty much violate every law they can.

Free healthcare in california is a state program started long before this century.

That’s just wrong, and I don’t understand how it’s legal. I’m not sure the tax laws allow a state to tax you if the income wasn’t made in that state.
