Breaking: Romney sympathizes with terrorists

Thousands of innocent lives were lost on September 11, 2001. Our hearts and prayers go out to their families and loved ones, and our most severe condemnation is aimed at the terrorists and their reprehensible actions. Attacks against civilians are condemned in Islam in no uncertain terms, and the majority of Muslims are peace-loving people who denounce such evil.
Indeed, among the many victims of 9/11 were several dozen innocent Muslims, ranging in age from their late 60s to a couple’s unborn child. Six of these victims were Muslim women, including one who was 7 months pregnant. Many were stockbrokers or restaurant workers, earning a living to care for their families. There were converts and immigrants, hailing from over a dozen different countries and the U.S. There were heroes: a NYPD cadet and a Marriott hotel worker, who sacrificed their lives attempting to rescue others. The Muslim victims were parents to over 30 children, who were left orphaned without one or both of their parents

As long as it wasn't the first thing he said in reaction to violence against Americans I'm okay with it. The film has little or nothing to do with what happened anyway.
The first thing Mitten did in reaction to violence against Americans was to say that Obama sympathized with terrorists.

He said that Obama was a commie pussy not to defend free speech.

As far as I've seen, Obama hasn't commented on the film. Do you have a link to this?

Supposing an accurate quote, below: Then the "shoot first," "aim later" assessment of Obama is more cogent than the assessment of the Embassy alert from Romney.

Romney Says:

“Of course, we have a First Amendment, and under the First Amendment, people are allowed to do what they feel they want to do,” he said. “They have the right to do that, but it’s not right to do things that are of the nature of what was done by, apparently this film.”

The embassy on the ground had spotted the problem way before any protests, and was able to officially express regret for a mis-use of the expression rights that are usual, in the United States.

Romney then came out and said it was wrong for the embassy to do that. Then in the quote, Romney says that ". . .it's not right to do things that are of the natue of what was done by, apprently this film," like the embassy had done. If the Romney release of remarks can be said, even, an incitement to riot--then likely area police have a Romney to arrest!

So now maybe it would be everywhere approporiate for Romney to get credit for everything happening now worldwide, an outcome of the film?

What might not have happened had Romney simply tried to stick with the economy, as an issue, instead: And say nothing about the murky little alert from the Embassy--thousands of miles away, not known to anyone, yet(?)!

Now all he shows is the usual Romney Brand: Wrong in the first place, timing way off: Who knows if any protesters were reacting to Romney's apparent celebration of the content of the clip!

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(Maybe he'll come out in support of Birth Control, via "Legitimate Rape," after all(?)!)

Obama Administration first response:

'The violence took a domestic political turn, in part thanks to a statement released early Tuesday by the staff of the Cairo embassy, which condemned the film and the "continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions."

This is where you apologize for Obama and tell us he is not responsible for the actions of his Administration.

Mitt Romney strongly denounced an anti-Muslim film linked to riots against U.S. diplomatic compounds in the Mideast on Thursday, accusing its director of wrongly offending Islamic sensibilities. His comments appeared to move him in line with the White House’s own position.

Romney told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that while he had not seen the film himself, he knew enough to declare it a “very bad thing.”

“You know, I think it’s dispiriting sometimes to see some of the awful things people say,” Romney said. “And the idea of using something that some people consider sacred and then parading that out a negative way is simply inappropriate and wrong. And I wish people wouldn’t do it.”

Romney said that the film is clearly legal under the Constitution.

“Of course, we have a First Amendment, and under the First Amendment, people are allowed to do what they feel they want to do,” he said. “They have the right to do that, but it’s not right to do things that are of the nature of what was done by, apparently this film.”

The Republican nominee also condemned Florida pastor Terry Jones, whose burning of a Koran sparked deadly attacks abroad in 2011, for promoting the film.

“I think the whole film is a terrible idea,” he said. “I think him making it, promoting it showing it is disrespectful to people of other faiths. I don’t think that should happen. I think people should have the common courtesy and judgment —- the good judgment — not to be — not to offend other peoples’ faiths. It’s a very bad thing, I think, this guy’s doing.”

It's tea time with terrorists and Mittens, pass the scons.

But I heartily agree with Mittens. Argh! a Stroke!

This is going to create a wave of tornadoes here on the forum, as right-wingers have to spin how this isn't Romney "apologizing for free speech and freedom of religion".

Quelle surprise! Katzndogz hopes for the worst purely for political reasons.
This may be Mitten's biggest flip flop yet.

Though he really didn't have much choice.

you really are a pathetic hack.

Romney was the FIRST one to condemn the recent actions in the ME... Obama's administrations first reaction was to commiserate with the people who perpetrated those actions.

Coming out against this film, AFTER first condemning the violent actiosn in the ME, is not even remotely a flip.

You're meds need adjusting.

No. I gave you the Obama Administration condemnation of free speech, which is what Romney criticized.

If you are you struggling to follow the conversation, why not just read, learn and refrain from posting until you catch up with the rest of us?

you have the right to perverse pornography too.......but that doesn't make it right or good judgement......

that's the only point Romney is making....it's NOT a flip-flop....

Except that when our embassy in Egypt said that, Romney claimed that was Obama supporting the terrorists.

You aren't entitled to your own facts.

Romney said:

'It's disgraceful that the Obama Administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks."
