What the left always fail to grasp is that despite the misleading short definition of a Nazi in dictionaries, it was actually a Socialist political party. The left only claimed it was far right-wing because the leadership wore military uniforms.
The bottom line was that it was Socialist because Hitler's Socialist government took governmental control of the businesses, which is exactly what Socialist governments do.

Socialism also dismisses/rejects any concept of the self-serving individual initiative as beneficial to all, i.e. laizzez-faire economy. Socialists see it as our duty to help the state meet the needs and wants of a society. It cannot accept that an individual working to support oneself and family will benefit all of society far more competently than any state initiative is capable of doing that.

And, of course, they influenced the decision to appoint Hitler as chancellor.

History knows many examples of people who started out as normal individuals, but ended up as scoundrels or even monsters.
Mussolini started out in the Socialist Party, and we know how he ended up.
Benedict Arnold started out as a hero of the War of Independence and ended up as a traitor.
