Zone1 Asking Jesus a question

Specifically, which un-Christian acts?

applauding the cutting if USAID is the 1st thing that comes to mind.

cheering for the elimination of healthcare for millions, & more to come.

celebrating ICE's tactics against legal & illegal humans.

woo-hooing for the deregulation for clear air, water & land.

i'd say that's a start.

So now you want religion in government?

Good luck with that.

we had some but the current administration is not interested in that.

at all.

& neither are the followers of it.

hate your next door neighbor, but don't forget to say grace

I think you are putting your faith in the wrong things. I have faith that things are going to go very poorly and then something good will come from it. But only after much suffering.

I can't tell you exactly when but we are overdue for our comeuppance. And I don't think it matters which party is in power.

your good luck rings hollow - as fear of diversity equity inclusion motivates the bible belt more than anything else.
Actually it doesn't ring hollow. Anyone who isn't prepared will need luck. I'm really hoping that people like you aren't prepared.

What are you doing, personally, that would help someone--or the earth in general? I don't recall any commandment that tells individuals to yell at the government to do something when individuals can/should be offering their personal help.

I don't recall any commandment that tells individuals to yell at the government ...

just leave it up to the clergy ...

what meriweather prays to for justice for whom ever seeks help from their gov't.

How am I pretending to be someone I have no knowledge of?

You Americans and your lack of Comprehension .

Seems you need everything spelt out for you and even then it is 50-50 whether you really know what is happening.

Not surprising that the Essene decided not to make a personal appearance in your country .

I don't bother reading AI cut and pastes. Obviously you don't find it important enough to discuss it in your own words, and AI is incapable of discussing anything.

My own thoughts on wars: All wars center around one of two things--and usually both. War is always over wealth and power. Someone else wants something that is not theirs, or not theirs currently. War: Someone wants what someone else already has.

It's a mistake to dismiss his points and concerns in this way. All the things noted did happen and they happened by people claiming to be following God's will.

As a Christian I question this myself all the time. For God so loved the world.......that he allowed millions to be killed in his name.

I suppose that might be my question. How is it he allowed such atrocities to be done in his name which surely drives people away?

I see people like Jerry Falwell Jr and Franklin Graham being held up as pillars of Christianity (OK, not Falwell so much any longer but he most certainly was) and I find myself asking if this is something I truly want to be a part of.

If Jesus were here on earth, and you had a chance to ask him a question, what would you ask him that might clarify (or verify) one of his teachings or another biblical verse?
How has he done unto us as he'd have done unto himself?

So spell out for us the Essene you have introduced into the thread about Christ, the Nazarene. Or, perhaps start another thread about the Essene that interests you?

My question would be simple. It’s the one I’ve asked every clergyman I’ve met in the last 25 years…

WHY?

If He cannot answer that question immediately and in a meaningful way for me, then I cannot accept him as Divine or speaking for the Divine.

Did you call people to worship you, or did you call them to worship God alone?

This question reflects a central point in Islamic belief: that all prophets, including Jesus, called to pure monotheism (worship of one God without partners).
