Obscured by the sun
Apocalyptic clash
Cities fall in ruin
Why must we die?

Obliteration of mankind
Under a pale gray sky
We shall arise

I did nothing, saw nothing
Terrorist confrontation
Waiting for the end
Wartime conspiracy

I see the world, old
I see the world, dead

Victims of war, seeking some salvation
Last wish, fatality
I've no land, I'm from nowhere
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

Face the enemy
Manic thoughts
Religious intervention
Problems remain

In 1968 the juke box at the EM Club at 32nd St. San Diego the anti war songs were played over and over:

Sky Pilot
Eve of Destruction
We got to get out of this place
For What It's Worth
and,
White Rabbit

Until the philosophy which hold one race superior / And another / Inferior / Is finally / And permanently / Discredited / And abandoned / -Everywhere is war - / Me say war.

That until there no longer / First class and second class citizens of any nation / Until the colour of a man's skin / Is of no more significance / than the colour of his eyes / - Me say war.

That until the basic human rights / Are equally guaranteed to all, / Without regard to race / - Dis a war.

That until that day / The dream of lasting peace, / World citizenship / Rule of international morality / Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued, / But never attained / - Now everywhere is war - / War.

And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes / that hold our brothers in Angola, / In Mozambique, / South Africa / Sub-human bondage / Have been toppled, / Utterly destroyed / - Well, everywhere is war - / Me say war.

'War in the east, / War in the west, / War up north, / War down south - / War - war - / Rumours of war. / And until that day, / The African continent / Will not know peace, / We Africans will fight - we find it necessary / - And we know we shall win / As we are confident / In the victory

Of good over evil -/ Good over evil, yeah! / Good over evil - / Good over evil, yeah! / Good over evil - / Good over evil, yeah!

The World is fast becoming younger, the news is all they've ever known
They've seen the wars, the hurt, the hunger
How will they choose when they are grown.
What do you tell forevers children when its their turn to hurt and heal
Whatever spins the grim tornedo can also turn a potters wheel
Take a little clay put it on the wheel give a little hint how god must feel,
Give a little turn listen to it spin make it in the shape you want it in.
Tell with you life the bloody story teach to they're dreams not burning steel
It's not in bombs where lies the glory but in what's shattered on the field
The potter's wheel takes love and caring skill and patience fast and slow,
The works it makes are easily broken once they've survived the potter's throw
Take a little clay put it on the wheel give a little hint how god must feel,
Give a little turn listen to it spin make it in the shape you want it in.
Some day some children will be digging in some long forgotten ground and
They'll find our civilization or what's left of it to be found
They'll find the weapons of destruction but buried deeper in the hole
They'll find a message and a promise in the sand, the potter's bowl

Sara Teasdale - 1884-1933

(War Time)
There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;
And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white,
Robins will wear their feathery fire
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;
And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.
Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree
If mankind perished utterly;
And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn,
Would scarcely know that we were gone.

There are a million of them. Folk artists were fueled by sex, drugs and anti-war music in the 60's . Now they are in charge and promoting a shooting war with Russia. Maybe some karma guru can sort it out.

Here's my forgetable anti-war song, well, lyrics anyway:

"When no one signs up to stop the enemy"

Pass the rolling tape and a jar of black salve.
Gotta soothe something for the shrapnel I have.
Gotta bury my grandma, my mom and my dad
If I can hide them quietly from from the fascists of bad

Nobody signed up to stop the enemy
the other day Putin said "you folks are not free."
So line up with others to be shot secretly.
Sing the words let it all be, and just let it be.

And they'll bury you, bury you just like Khrushchev said
In a mass grave uncovered with shots in your head.
And the evidence showed you surrounded in red
Blood stains all over your carcass so very well bled

and they said, "Good riddance to America the free
Welcome, by all means, to our slavery
If we find you useful and alive, you'll be
Starving and whipped with great frequency

Thank you for your cowardice
Now you'll have nothing that's nice.
Letting it go had a lucrative price.
We'll use your remains to fertilize rice.
