America Suggests Leaving Peace Talks up to Zelensky. Or at least pretends to?

Does anybody have any idea on what this could mean? Is it even possible that America can allow peace talks to take place at a time when Russia has gained so much territory?

Is it a way of saying that the Ukraine's big offensive is imaginary?

Is it America's/Blinken's way of saying that America isn't still demanding the slaughter of the Ukraine?

My opinion is that America will never risk peace and so it must be made clear that Zelensky will refuse talks.

Ukraine has made its demands for peace very clear

Russia withdraw to all pre 2014 borders
Russia pay reparations
Russian war criminals be prosecuted

Quite true!

But what are America's demands? I would suggest that the demands at least contemplated by America are much more extensive than the Ukraine's demands.

America's war against Russia demands an end of Russia as a world power.

And then that's where all the debates must begin. Never mind the Ukraine and what they think.

Come on winger, it's Biden's war for you to cheer on. Maybe even take a shot at telling us how it will end?

America has a dog in the fight

For us to end sanctions and stop providing aid to the Ukraine war effort

Putin withdraw his troops
Putin repair his damage
Putin agree to not take further military actions against any neighbor

How long have we maintained sanctions against an Korea and Cuba?

Putin's offer is still on the table.
Putin repair his damage.
Russia has always understood that the damage will need to be repaired and that's the reason why Russia hasn't moved to a complete war footing. It's now in fact an escalated military operation with declared purpose.

Russia doesn't intend to. And we all need to hope that doesn't become necessary.
It it becomes necessary against Poland or another Nato member then it meand nuclear world war. America doesn't want that to happen and so it won't. And America doesn't need that to happen either. America is likely depending mostly on a war of attrition against Russia. Russia needs to continue to cooperate.

Did you know that Russia is too rich in resources for sanctions to work. Russia's economy is booming on account of China's contributions, and there's no world power that can make a dent in that fact.

Are you of the opinion that the Russia/China/Brics/Saudi/Iran/South Africa/other countries won't turn their backs on America and in effect isolate America with the equivalent of sanctions?

This isn't a war against Cuba my friend.

The USA does not want this war to stop... a peace deal even a temporary one like a ceasefire threatens the American elected establishment... but not one of them will tell us why....

America has become addicted to warfare... its time to stop before that warfare springs up inside of our borders.... other than a combat troop not one American alive today knows what that will look like.... its time to tell our leaders to stop funding wars and start funding America....
Or vote for Trump again and let him tell them...
America first....

Back when Biden was VP he made demands in order for Ukraine to receive US funding, so who honestly thinks the US is paying for the war and not calling the shots? I'm not a fan of the US funding the war, but as long as we are Zelensky should have little say.

No, they won’t

The US hasn’t invaded a peaceful neighbor to gain territory
