America is a 'CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC,' not a Democracy...

Cult fucks know jack shit about the US.

How many times do these stupid assholes call the US a DEMOCRACY?

They are dumb as shit.
I would recommend you read this article, but I know you are too dumb to understand the big words.

Feel free to provide historic examples of "a democracy".
Athens and Sparta. The citizens of Athens debated while the Persians killed the 300 Spartans who were defending Athens at the pass of Thermopylae. Both Athens and Sparta were direct democracies although Sparta excluded its slaves called Helots from the vote.

What nations chose to called themselves can be deceiving
Thank you

We are a democratic republic
And North Korea is the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
the Congo is Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Algeria is Democratic Republic of Algeria.
East Germany was known as the German Democratic Republic
North Viet Nam was know as the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

"Names themselves are a convention to distinguish things or people, but themselves do not have any worth or meaning."

Well, we are partially a democracy. But we are most definitely a republic.

Hence why in the pledge of allegiance it says "and to the Republic for which it stands". Republic being the key word there.

But constantly throwing around democracy alters people's ideas of what America is. Plus it sounds good when they repeat "republicans are assaulting our democracy ".

Our Constitutional Republic is a Liberal Democracy. That is the government derives its power from the people through our democratically elected representatives.

Almost 90% of all nations are republics. Today as in the past, a republic is a nation that is not ruled by a monarchy or a dictator. In a republic, supreme power is held by the people through their elected representatives. Democracy as form of government no longer exists but democrat principals such as holding free and fair elections; a pluralistic system of political parties; separation of powers; independence of the branches of government define what we call democratic government.

Names of political parties like the offical names of countries do not define how governments actually operate. Countries that have no free elections call themselves democratic and countries ruled by dictators and monarchies call themselves republics. Names just don't mean much at all.

Yup. A Democratic Republic

Yea..imagine thinking that the majority should elect the majority of our representatives. Of Course today's Republicans know that they can not achieve that so attacking the idea of democracy becomes necessary
Plus it sounds good when they repeat "republicans are assaulting our democracy ".
Then don't fucking DO that

basically this is all more garbage GOP propaganda. A republic is defined as a representative democracy for God's sake, Super Dupers.
Nope! Representation in Congress is based on the popular vote within each state. Each state is allotted House seats based on population with two Senators allotted each states, all governed by popular vote. Presidential elections are governed by the electoral college which is determined by popular vote within each state. To take it a step further, I may be mistaken, not all states are winner take all electoral votes. That is the decision of each individual state’s legislature. A pure democracy translates into those that live in high densely populated areas having the power to exert their will over less populated areas. Key word subjugation and exploitation. Without a constitution with accompanying bill of rights the Union as we know it fractures, never was in the first place. Democracy is the basis for how representatives are elected and how business of the country is conducted in congress. The abolishment and replacement of the electoral college with popular vote ends equal representation under the law and shifts power into the hands of major populated areas on a national scale, end result corruption.
There are immense differences between a republic and democracy. Regardless of what we both believe the structure currently in place guarantees the freedoms of all Americans.

not at all. A republic is a representative democracy. a pure democracy is what they had in Athens originally where all the citizens meet in an arena and vote. Pretty damn difficult nowadays

republicans want a tax cut for the rich and a bigger screw job for regular people. Democrats want to tax the rich again and invest in America and Americans again, things like cheap college and training, A living wage, health care day care paid parental leave Great infrastructure and vacations... like every other modern country.
