Abolish the ‘Undemocratic’ Electoral College?

We who agree with me do not want any law passed that causes women to not be able to deal with their own body. We do not expect to pass a law that she gets to slaughter the infant she carries.
Sounds like a contradiction to me.

I was making a high income then when drafted, it was reduced to pennies per dollar. Slaves got many benefits from those fine plantations and the Army treated me to slave like quarters.
So? You want a cookie? A medal or a chest to pin it on? Oh, woe is me. How many other people were in your boat? Were you Elvis Presley in a previous life?

Do you think all of the others wanted to be drafted? You didn't get killed, did you? Think of all those draftees that got killed in Vietnam. Did they call it slavery? I am sure many of them thought that way. I had two uncles and two cousins that fought in Vietnam. By the grace of God they all came home, and my uncles went back again. The difference is that they enlisted, not drafted.

When you love war, contact Admiral Rockwell Tory.

Senate Democrats are moving to try to abolish the Electoral College after their party suffered defeats up and down the ballot in November’s elections.

Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee released the S.J. Res. 121 on Dec. 12, which proposes a Constitutional amendment to do away with the Electoral College system altogether and replace it with a simple national popular vote system. Senate Democrats Brian Schatz of Hawaii, Dick Durbin of Illinois and Peter Welch of Vermont sponsored the resolution.

Comment:
The Democrats are cheaters.
They can't win fairly so they want to change the rules.
It would take a constitutional amendment to abolish the electoral college.
That will never happen.
Le sigh. With unAmerican bullshit like this?
Democrats are headed right where The Whigs went.

They volunteered to defend their country. They did not have to be forced. You were just lucky in your timing. A few years later maybe not so much.
Enlighten me. What country invaded the United states where your children went to war?

You sure got pissed that I accurately described life in the Army.

You must be pissed the draft is not now used.
No. What give you any idea I support the draft? I recruited for the Navy and Army. I see the crap we get now, and shake my head at the thought of forcing these juvenile delinquents to serve.

I just don't like people who whine about the draft being slavery.

Don't like war. I fought one, my son fought in one and my daughter fought in one. You didn't.
I didn't, but I've felt the pain of many that have.
The way I see it, the world is the world and has a set of rules.
Every soul you take, justified or not, takes a piece of your own.
I never saw it not weigh heavy on people.

That is your opinion. Not their opinion because it is based on the Constitution, not your personal beliefs.
" Is this, sir, consistent with the character of a free government? Is this civil liberty? Is this the real character of our Constitution? No sir, indeed it is not. The Constitution is libelled, foully libelled. The people of this country have not established for themselves such a fabric of despotism. They have not purchased at a vast expense of their own treasure and their own blood a Magna Charta to be slaves. Where is it written in the Constitution, in what article or section is it contained, that you may take children from their parents, and parents from their children, and compel them to fight the battles of any war in which the folly or the wickedness of government may engage it?"

One of the Founding Fathers states that Conscription is Un-American and Unconstitutional but --- somehow--- you believe that it is "out of context BS !!!!!!! instead of simply admitting that you are wrong

Admiral, and I presume you are that rank, you and I have not had a fight before. I told the truth and you attack me. Time to get back to being you again. I resent my remarks being called a whine. I simply told this forum how it is in the Army.

I can say the slaves were also compensated and see how you like that.

Well, you'd be lying. I know history, and you apparently don't. I am not an Admiral. My user name is a John Wayne character hence the photo.
