We WANT Republicans to run against "contraception"

People use contraception to limit the size of their families to what they can financially support. They space out the children so the mother can recover between children and so they don't have a lot of babies they can't support all at one time. For many women, contraceptives are also used for health reasons.

The vast majority of women take contraceptives including nearly every women of child bearing age including married women.

Republicans are trying to pick a fight against contraception.

All I can say is "bring it on". It's a fight Democrats welcome.

Hey rdean, I bet you could broker a deal with all these 'Constitutionalists"...let women have contraceptives in exchange for testing their bodily fluids.

Yeah.....that's gonna happen.....when they start insisting on drug-testing dudes, before Viagra-'scripts are filled!!!

If by "BS" you mean asking you to explain your position on an issue, then yes, that's what I do. I do it to everyone.

It's amazing how many people, like you, can't explain their own positions.

oh dear gawd, this is like the 6th thread that has been posted on this and you still haven't seen the people EXPLAIN their positions?

you just like to ARGUE because you think you are always RIGHT. you are actually boring because you just REPEAT the same shit over and over.

I'm not always right. I've been wrong and been corrected. It happens.

In this case though, I'm correct in the interpretation of the Constitution and you are not. But again, show me a court case validating your interpretation and I will freely admit I'm wrong and will change my mind on this issue.

I see you and rdean finally got together.

Republicans don't want to pay for women's health care, AND they want to make an issue out of it.

Is the Republican Party really this stupid?

An abortion isn't a healthcare issue any more than cosmetic surgery is. Healthcare issues are things like treating a disease. An abortion is an elective procedure to end an unwanted pregnancy. Are Democrats really stupid enough to cloak abortion as healthcare? If so, perhaps you could start doing pregnancy screening. :cuckoo:

Dean thinks this is just about contraception rather than infringement on Liberty from a POTUS that has been caught overstepping his Constitutional authority.

Bring it on indeed. WE will put into focus the real issue, not made up yaksqueeze from a pinhead racist bigot that gets it wrong 100% of the time.

The War On Contraception:

I just started a thread on that.
That is your thread. :)

Maybe if just once in a while we could hear from Catholic women who do NOT use artificial birth control because they are Catholic,

we might be able to take you and your sanctimonious proclamations a bit more seriously.

THIS IS A ROLL CALL!!!!

Are there any women on this board who do not use birth control BECAUSE they are Catholic and BECAUSE they are obeying the dogma of the Catholic Church???

Please, seriously, speak up...

...at the very least you'll give the rightwing anti-birth control crowd around here something other than an imaginary non-existent constituency to defend.

Nobody on the right is anti birth control. We are however all about the government staying out of the churches. Is it not those of you on the left who are always crying "Separation of church and state!"?. But now that it does not fit your narrative you are all about the government getting into religion. Hypocritical if you ask me.

1. Ok, so you agree there is in fact separation of church and state. Good. I hope all your rightwing cronies who have insisted about 10.2 zillion times on this board that there is no such thing now agree with you.

2. Since there is separation of church and state, then just because a BUSINESS is run by Catholics it does not deserve, nor can it claim, a special privilege, from the government, based on its religion.

Letting a chuch run business have exceptions to laws that are not granted to non-church businesses would in fact be a VIOLATION of the separation of church and state,

since it would be the government favoring certain businesses solely on their claim to a religious affiliation.

Nobody on the right is anti birth control. .

So the Catholic Church is claiming that its doctrine includes a sacred, inviolable principle that in the real world has zero support, zero adherents, zero believers, zero practitioners.

lol, I think even human sacrifice as a religious practice has a bigger following than that.

Nice appeal to nobody NYC. Why don't you ask all the alcoholics if they had a drink today?

American women will remember who stood up for them in November.

You do realize that abortion and contraception is denied to no women, correct? All they need do is go to an abortion clinic, the pharmacy or send their boyfriend into the rest room at the local truckstop.

This issue has nothing to do with women's rights. It has to do with an overreaching socialist trying to force churches to provide services against their beliefs. Go ahead and try to frame it differently, but you'll just continue to make yourself look even more foolish.

Catholics are not falling for the gimmick, nor are all those birth control using Catholics rallying to obama's side.

6 in 10 Catholics disapprove of Obama | Campaign 2012 | Washington Examiner

There goes the Catholic vote. Nearly four years after President Obama won 54 percent of Catholic voters, their support has plummeted to just 40 percent in the first poll conducted after he imposed a new birth control mandate on employers, including Catholic agencies.

In a new Rasmussen poll, 59 percent of Catholics now disapprove of the president's job. Rasmussen reports that 44 percent strongly disapprove. About 40 percent at least somewhat approve of Obama's job.

obama needs to stick to his guns.

Just another fact some liberals will ignore.

They should ignore it. Continue on. Like these missteps only make him more popular.

Oooh, nice one. To bad you didn't actually read it, what it requires is any employer that supplies prescription drug coverage to cover contraceptives. This is saying that, if they provide a service, they cannot discriminate, so they elected not to supply the service. There employees were, however, free to get the coverage themselves with their own money, not the church's.

Next.

Suitable for framing.

It would be suitable. Except he completely misread the ruling.

Next.

Did it? How? Are you trying to say that there are no copays in California?

WOW!! What?

I would LOVE to hear this explained!

Obama decided to force churches to pay for something which is against their religion. Don't be stupid.

I would like a link to anything that differentiates the cost between an insurance policy that covers prophalactics and one that doesn't. If the government said that all insurance companies must cover those medicines, then its a moot point and false outrage.
This is just an opportunity for the right to claim religious privilege in order to force a political agenda, nothing more, and nothing less.

I see the problem. You think that, because the government tells a company to pay for something, they will simply ignore the fact that it costs money and do what they are told. If the government told you to jump off the tallest building in New York I bet you would trust them to catch you at the bottom.

Like insurance companies are going to lay down for Obama. This clown has pissed off oil and insurance companies, not to mention most religions. PAC money is going to bury him
