This case is a SAD example of why I think the Criminal Justice
system should be the focus of reform to pay for health care.

Instead of imposing federal insurance mandates, and fines creating
a whole new class of people to be punished financially, losing their rights and choices in health care
without having committed ANY crime, just to pay for health insurance through Govt,

Why not go after the REAL CRIMINALS costing taxpayers tens of thousands per year each,
and find a way to credit THAT back to the public to pay for health care
(and have the CRIMINALS work off the debts, not charge them to lawabiding citizens
who did not commit these crimes or incur these costs).

Why are we AVOIDING the real costs that could cover health care?
And just taking shortcuts to impose new ways to pay for it that deprive lawabiding citizens of their freedom?

Why not hold the CRIMINALS responsible for costs they incur,
instead of punishing taxpayers?

(Normally I cite cases of criminals who shoot people who end up in the emergency room.)
This article is about a rapist/serial sex offender who infected
an infant and 14 year old girl with HIV and other STD that already have
required medical treatment and even surgery, and will require expensive help perhaps the rest of their lives)

WHO SHOULD PAY FOR THIS, the Public or the Criminal?

So-called responsible gun owners can buy shooter insurance so when they blow someone away at Starbucks or the local beer joint, their insurance covers them.

Can't remember which Repub it was who is now hawking the insurance. RW nutter here, Lonestar_Logic says he carries just such an insurance policy. Needless to say, I don't want to be in the restaurant when they get his order wrong!

Criminals don't have any money. The two men who beat Brian Stowe into brain damage didn’t use a gun.

Everyone with fists and feet should carry beating insurance. Every man with a penis should carry rape insurance.

Courts already have the power to impose restitution. They use it. Getting money from a destitute criminal is impossible. Getting money from an illegal alien is a pipe dream put the bong down.

WHO SHOULD PAY FOR THIS, the Public or the Criminal?

A 33 year old sex offender.........with HIV. Just exactly how much money do you think you will get out of him?

The premise of your thread fails as you clearly have no idea what you're talking about, as this is ignorant, ridiculous nonsense.

The ACA contains no provisions for 'punitive measures,' no one 'loses' his rights or choices in healthcare; obviously you seek only to contrive and propagate lies concerning healthcare reform.

He would pay but it wouldn't necessarily be with money and the payment plan would be over a long period of time.

No, see your post is an example of ad hominem and therefore a fallacy . :lmao:

Actually emily is correct about people having fewer choices and being punished financially if they don't participate.. you're just playing semantics games....as usual

Can we try something that makes sense? Locking him up for the rest of his life? Absolutely.

The rest of his life would be in severed distress and pain.
