Republicans voted with their Big Pharma allies to continue to block Medicare from negotiating the prices for select drugs purchased at the pharmacy counter and administered at the doctor’s office.

by opposing the Build Back Better Act which caps Medicare Part D out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs at $2,000 per year beginning in 2024.

Republicans Voted Against Lowering the Price of Insulin. Republicans opposed capping insulin co-pays for all Americans with insurance at $35 each month.

Republicans Opposed Premium Relief For Middle Income Families. The Build Back Better ensures families above will pay no more than 8.5 percent of their income towards health coverage. This will help middle-income families facing excessive premiums or living in high-premium areas.

Republicans Voted Against Providing 12 Months Of Continuous Coverage To Women Following Childbirth. Republicans voted to deny 12 months of continuous coverage to postpartum women on Medicaid. In 2018, 45 percent of births were paid for by Medicaid, with 50 percent or more births covered by the program in 22 states. Medicaid covers 65 percent of all births to Black mothers.

Republicans Voted Against Funding Health Equity Measures To Reduce Maternal Deaths. The Build Back Better Act includes $295 million to bolster and diversify the perinatal health workforce, including funding for midwives and doulas whose involvement is essential to reducing maternal deaths. An additional $100 million has been included for maternal mental health equity and $50 million for maternal health research at Minority-Serving Institutions.

they want private heathcare any way you cut it, that means everybody uses Advantage Plans, all seniors, the ACA will be no longer if the republicans get in the senate. They want everybody on Private healthcare.

Present this as stand alone and if the Republican's block it, I will condemn them. The odds are it never happens because the Democrats also have far too many bought by the Pharmaceutical industry.

Republicans Opposed Capping Out-Of-Pocket Spending For Seniors. Republicans voted against helping seniors with serious conditions like cancer, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis save thousands of dollars on prescriptions, by opposing the Build Back Better Act which caps Medicare Part D out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs at $2,000 per year beginning in 2024.

Republicans Voted Against Lowering the Price of Insulin. Republicans opposed capping insulin co-pays for all Americans with insurance at $35 each month.

Republicans Voted To Allow Unlimited Price Increases On Prescription Drugs. Republicans voted against stopping Big Pharma from raising prices faster than the rate of inflation as part of the Build Back Better Act. This cap will apply to all Americans, no matter whether you are insured or not, and no matter what kind of insurance you have, and is essential to stop arbitrary price increases on essential medications.

Republicans Voted For Higher Health Insurance Premiums

Republicans Voted Against Helping Nine Million Americans Save On Monthly Premiums. Republicans voted against helping nine million Americans save an average of $600 annually on their premiums when they buy insurance on their own through the ACA Marketplaces. For a family of four making $80,000 a year, premiums will drop nearly $250 a month, or nearly $3,000 a year.

Republicans Opposed Premium Relief For Middle Income Families. The Build Back Better ensures families above will pay no more than 8.5 percent of their income towards health coverage. This will help middle-income families facing excessive premiums or living in high-premium areas.

When you start a thread with two lies in a row, why should I view the rest of it with any credibility?

President Trump lowered the cost of insulin...

Then Biden rescinded Trump's insulin pricing rule...

Biden Administration Rescinds Trump Administration Insulin Pricing Rule

And it was Senator Joe Manchin who killed Biden's "Build Back Better." Joe Manchin, a Democrat. :laughing0301:

Joe Manchin Kills the Build Back Better Bill

Now I suppose you'll think I'm making this up, and you'll give me one of those "fake news" reactions, right?

It is embarrassing that many Americans travel to Mexico and other countries to find affordable health care and import US manufactured drugs from overseas.

The US Government should not be involved in medical care for any person for any reason. There is no legitimate power of the Federal Government to be involved in medicine or medical care of any type.

Trump has long pledged to take action to lower prescription drug costs, but has failed to forge common ground with Congress on the issue. Democrats passed a bill in the House of Representatives last year that would see the government negotiate prices for expensive drugs, pegged to costs in other countries.

Some Senate Republicans have backed a more modest plan to limit Medicare prescription costs, but others in Trump's party oppose interfering in the market.

the first two years the republicans controlled the Senate.

We will get socialized medicine before it over.

If he never did, how and why did Biden rescind his EO?

And if Trump's EO was never carried out, you can't blame him for it. He did his job.
In the Federal Register notice rescinding the rule, HHS noted that the rule would have resulted in “excessive administrative costs and burdens” on health centers. Specifically, the agency took issue with the requirement that health centers would need to create and maintain new practices to determine patients’ eligibility to receive drugs at or below the discounted price paid by the health center, plus a minimal fee. HHS also noted its belief that the implementation of the Rule would have resulted in “reduced resources available to support critical services to health center patients – including those who use insulin and injectable epinephrine.

You have to plan and former DJT as pres. didn't plan, in order he never planned to do it.

Separately, the Trump administration implemented a program in which some Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage plans voluntarily set the maximum copay for insulin at $35 per month. However, not all insulin products are necessarily covered by the plans that participate. It also does not affect costs for people who are uninsured or have other coverage.

That program remains in place, and Cubanski pointed out that the Biden administration supported expanding that initiative. A provision under the idling Build Back Better Act would have applied it to private insurers, for example.

a lot of people have private ins.

The fed gov should be involved in the medical care, if drug companies were just involved the prices would be sky high, like they are now. The deductible is sky high.

Get this, the UK's NHS spends LESS per capita than the US federal government spends on healthcare. And for that, the US sees most people not being able to access this healthcare in the first place. It's embarrassing.

President Trump Announces Lower Out of Pocket Insulin Costs for Medicare’s Seniors | CMS
Today, under President Trump’s leadership, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that over 1,750 standalone Medicare Part D prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans with prescription drug coverage have applied to offer lower insulin costs through the Part D Senior Savings Model for the 2021 plan year.

"Applied to offer"?

In the Federal Register notice rescinding the rule, HHS noted that the rule would have resulted in “excessive administrative costs and burdens” on health centers. "A patients eligibility"?
Why would they need to determine that?
Under Biden there are no eligibility requirements.

No, like most teabaggers, you can't comprehend what you're evidently, trying to read.

Build back better was passed.

The fed gov should be involved in the medical care
Please show me the SPECIFIC mandate in the US Constitution which gives ANY of the branches of the Federal Government power to legislate or spend money on medical issues or health//healthcare.

SPECIFIC, not “General Welfare” or any other vague shit.
