The Placebo Effect is so powerful, you can give an inert pill to a patient, tell the patient it will cure his or her arthritis, and lo and behold it is nearly as effective as the leading anti-arthritis drugs.

I was talking to my aunt yesterday. She is an emergency room nurse. Before it became non kosher, they would give trauma patients an injection of saline solution and tell the patient he/she had just been injected with pain killers. It killed the pain. The power of suggestion killed the pain.

Everyone is familiar with the placebo effect. It's not an Alex Jones fantasy.

I was watching a PBS show a couple weeks ago about medicine. The doctors being interviewed on the show were concerned about whether or not to inform a patient about possible side effects of a drug or procedure. As it happens, if you tell a patient about possible side effects, they are much more likely to be stricken with said complications. The power of suggestion is incredibly strong.

Just by being aware of the influence of the mind over health, you can avoid most health problems.
