Rush didn't "lash out". He questioned the political nature of the Pope's comments.

And he has every right to considering the Roman Catholic Church is a heavy investor in real estate and foreign companies . Maybe someone should give the new Pope a heads up on the basic fact that the Roman Catholic Church's wealth is impossible to calculate.

I think a better description would be, the Pope thinks like a true Christian and Rush thinks like he's got his and no one better touch it.
