If you bothered to educate yourself about what is really going on in Israel, how international politics work, and how the UN really works, you would understand this.

Several protesters did make a connection between the settlements, which cost billions of shekels to maintain, and Israel's socio-economic problems. One sign bore a photo of Avigdor Lieberman, Israel's right-wing foreign minister and a settler himself, with the slogan, "Where is the justice? Where is the money?".

And a year on. . . What has this prime minister done about this problem? Nothing. Still billions go toward a repressive occupation and apartheid policy when they could be used to solve the problems of the middle and lower classes. Corporations in the surveillance, intelligence gathering, espionage and military-industrial sectors of the economy are flushed with tax payer money while citizens suffer.

An estimated two thousand people joined the protest, which is due to continue on Sunday. Israeli’s are angry about the high cost of living.

The government launched cheaper housing initiatives and plans for better education subsidies after last year’s protests drew hundreds of thousands of Israelis.

But a year on, many of them accuse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of dragging his feet.

Israel’s cabinet has approved a package of tax rises and spending cuts aimed at reining in the budget deficit. The country weathered the global economic crisis well until a year ago when exports began to slow amid the downturn in the US and Europe.

So the Iranian leader champions the plight of those poor destitute people, both Palestinian, AND Israeli that are the victims of these misguided policies of only promising housing and education while in actuality raising taxes and cutting services, and you rail against the leader of the United States for giving him a full and unbiased hearing?

Did you ever care to look at multiple media sources and find out that when he is quoted he is continually mistranslated? He never calls for the destruction of Israel, you do know that right? He calls for the destruction of the Israeli regime. And to be fair, doesn't Israel continually call for the destruction of the Iranian regime? I guess that makes them equally bad. Oh wait, one already has atomic weapons, and is actively engaged in ethnic cleansing and an apartheid policy. And you think the US leader should walk out on another world leader that protests this policy?

Making a lot of sense to me. "Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer."

Meaning that your enemies are always going to be out there seeking to harm you so you want to keep an extremely close eye on them in order to make sure that they are not going to hurt you.
It means that you always have to know what your enemies are doing. Or for a reference, as a war tactic, know what the enemy is doing so you don't get ambushed
