Obama & Atlas Shrugged

Oh yeah also Hank Rearden is having an affair with Dagny.

And Hank's bitch wife Lillian revealed that information to Jim Taggert, who then told Wesley Mouch in exchange for higher train rates for Taggert.

That information was then used as blackmail against Hank Rearden to give over the patent to Rearden metal. Dr. Ferris promised to expose Dagny. Rearden agreed to protect her reputation.

However, anyone who builds a furnace used to make Rearden metal other than Rearden, gets his furnaces destroyed. Serves the looters right. Don't you agree?

We get it, you found a nice Rand site or wikipedia.

:cuckoo:

More about Obama looting the achievers.

What do you think is going to happen when all those taxes on health care is going to kick in?

Businesses are already struggeling, what do you think is going to happen when they have this new expense that they can't afford?

I'll give you a hint.

They are going to terminate people, perhaps they were outsource.

The looters just think that because the government tries to confiscate more of the business owner's money that they will automatically pay it. That they have an endless amount of pay for the socialist schemes.

They won't. Unemployment will go even higher than the 10%, more businesses will fail, more people will be without health insurance as it becomes more costly, government bureaucrats will destroy the health care system.

JUST LIKE ATLAS SHRUGGED.

And Obama will say it's for the public good.

One more test question Jillian...Since you questioned if I read the book.

Who is John Galt?

I've got to get that book.

Read "Anthem" by her instead. It makes the same point, in about 900 less pages.

Atlas Shrugged is one of the most overrated books I've ever read - and not because of it's politics - I know where I stand with Ayn Rand. It's just a poorly written 1000 page monstrosity that's thesis can be summed up in one sentence.

Do you think you could play Bioshock instead of reading the book to get the same info or not?

Maybe I'm missing something here...

What exactly are you talking about?

Bioshock is a video game. Good game too. But rather than me explaining it:

BioShock - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

BioShock is set during 1960, in Rapture, a fictional underwater dystopian/anti-utopian city.[31][33] The history of Rapture is learned by the player through audio recordings as he explores the city. Rapture was envisioned by the Randian business magnate Andrew Ryan, who wanted to create a laissez-faire state to escape increasingly oppressive political, economic, and religious authority on land. The city was secretly built in 1946 on a mid-Atlantic seabed, utilizing submarine volcanoes to provide geothermal power.[34] Scientific progress flourished in Rapture, leading to rapid developments in engineering and biotechnology thanks in part to the brilliant scientists that Ryan brought to the city. One such advancement was ADAM, stem cells harvested from a previously unknown species of sea slug, which were discovered by Dr. Bridgette Tenenbaum to have the ability to regenerate damaged tissue and rewrite the human genome. Tenenbaum joined with businessman and mobster Frank Fontaine to create the plasmid industry, which offered superhuman physical enhancements to its customers. Tenenbaum found that ADAM could be mass-produced by implanting the slugs in the stomachs of young girls ("Little Sisters"), taken from orphanages founded by Fontaine.

I've heard of the game. I've heard it's pretty good too. I'm just not sure what it has to do with my distaste for Atlas Shrugged.

The game received overwhelmingly positive reviews, being particularly well-reviewed in the mainstream press, which praised its "morality-based" storyline, immersive environment and Ayn Rand-inspired dystopian back-story.[21]

Basically I think he was asking whether it'd be better to play that game instead of reading the POS book.

CMike has just decided to fly in the face of all logic and rhetoric and just keep posting the same conspiracy bullshit.

And Rand is a overrated writer and can be considered a textbook definition of batshit insane.

Your ignorance is quite astounding. Please continue

I don't know enough of the backstory to have an informed opinion then. But you'll end up with the same idea by reading Anthem by her, and it's about 900 pages shorter.

Brilliant book - I have a signed 10th Edition.

Nice to its return to more mainstream popularity...

Did you miss the fact that she ran a cult all based around her?

Read this article, then get back to me:

Ayn Rand | Cracked.com

I believe she also publicly admitted that her political theory was a utopian fantasy that would never be able to actually happen.

Do you really think the details were not posted elsewhere. Jesus at least attempt some thinking.

I believe she also publicly admitted that her political theory was a utopian fantasy that would never be able to actually happen.

That she did. There's a reason why her writing was called fiction, because it was make believe and completely made up.

I know this may come as quite a shock. But I dont pay any attention to her, but I did recognize the accuracy of the information presented. SOMETHING YOU SEEM INCAPABLE OF.

Considering I've seen some of the links you presented and represented as "accurate" I don't think that's saying much for you.

May I recommend coming back in touch with reality? The benefits would definitely outweigh any negatives for you.

When you can not debate attack the messenger or the source.

Get to the information, or be known as someone of lessor intelligence.

You do understand what facts are? I ask because lefties emote alot.

LOL Nothing serious then. Why didnt you just post from the rude pundint/

Let me guess, you're one of those people who believe Rand was completely right huh? :eusa_eh:

I know you were talking to me, but I feel any "incapability" to recognize the accuracy of the information presented is less an incapability, and more a disagreement. I don't claim to speak for Dogbert, but I've (unfortuatly) read Atlas Shrugged, and I don't agree that the information presented was accurate at all. Atlas Shrugged is fiction - Utopian fiction. It's no more "accurate" than 2001: A Space Odyssey.
