NAACP endorses gay marriage

Maybe black people will finally realize the NAACP is just a bunch of black socialist goons acting like they speak for them

The NACCP was irrelevant as soon as black people were given equal rights under the law in this country. It is just hanging around to keep disgruntled 60s civil rights idiots employed on shakedown money and to help black people get this and that from whitey for crimes decades to over a hundred years old.

GoneBezerk does not realize that we tried all white government for 300 years, and failed to practice significant portions of our country men and women.

Please tell him we are not going back to the 1950s.

....and the conservative poser exposes his ass yet again.:cuckoo:

The NAACP is Not a black peoples organization.

It's for all people of color, as long as they are black. The NAACP is like Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition, for all colors, as long as they are black.

So...only black people join the NAACP?

Of course not, guilt ridden whites join the NAACP. The NAACP itself is concerned only with black people. National Association for the Advancement of Colored People doesn't mean LAVENDER. They don't speak Spanish, nor are they the home of Chinese engineers.

I mean the NAALCP endorses Obama....Humm if Obama had not said what he said, do you think NAACP would have came out for gay marriage?

The nation's largest civil rights group, the NAACP, endorsed gay marriage on Saturday, giving a boost to the movement to legalize same-sex nuptials despite reservations expressed by some black ministers.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People passed the resolution at its board meeting in Miami "as a continuation of its historic commitment to equal protection under the law," the organization said.

"Civil marriage is a civil right and a matter of civil law. The NAACP's support for marriage equality is deeply rooted in the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution and equal protection of all people," Benjamin Todd Jealous, President and CEO of the NAACP, said in a statement.

The NAACP, like NOW, SEIU, and La Raza, is owned by the Liberal establishment. Is this really news??

It's news because the Rightwing Propaganda Machine was hard at work trying to convince people that Obama's coming out for gay marriage was going to incite a shitstorm of backlash from the African American community.

In other words, once again the Right was toking up on their recurring pipe dream that someday black America will magically turn Republican.

you cannot have equality based on special privileges for some but not for others

You do realize that the above statement just supported marriage equality for gays and lesbians, don't you?

No, it didnt. Actually it was the opposite. Gays and lesbians have exactly the same marriage rights as anyone else. What they want are special rights.

Wrong.

Gays and lesbians want the SAME benefits from the government when they marry their spouses. Not SPECIAL benefits.

Uh, civil unions give them that. Heck, even unmarried couples can set up legal arrangements to act like they're married in legal terms for assets, wills, etc. :eusa_whistle:

Gays just want to force others to accept their lifestyle by forcing others to accept gay marriage. It is a poke in the eye of Christian families where some gay couple can laugh at the Christian family when they're married just like them.:cuckoo:

I am Republican, you are not a conservative, and we are not going back to wackiness in government based on a single majority race.

Actually, they didn't endorse marriage, they endorsed civil unions. On top of that, the only reason they did it was because they were trying to cover Obama with the black community. My guess is the community is going to support Obama and reject the NAACP.

No, they endorsed civil marriage. It says so right here:

My guess is that the NAACP is aware that the black community is largely against equal benefits from the government for same-sex marriages and is leading by example. I applaud their decision to come out and support Obama.

Another example of the deep corruption in our culture. The 14th Amendment has nothing to do with same-sex marriage.

Sure it does, and you have no leg to stand on this one.,

Perhaps. Why does that bother you so much? Frankly, who are the Christians to insist the law has to conform with their beliefs.

The problem with civil unions is the same thing that is wrong with this..

Have you seen a lot of such laughter? I can't recall even one instance.

Go for it. Explain to us how the 14th amendment was passed so gays could be married.

Nope. The picture shows a violation of civil rights. Defining marriage as a man and a woman violates no one's civil rights.

How can a national organization still go by the antiquated and offensive word, "COLORED" in its name?

If I referred to President Obama, or Al Sharpton or Calypso Farakhan or Alex Wagner or Solidad O'Brien or Eugine Robinson or Jesse Jackson or any number or African-Americans (including those - most of them, actually - who could not point to Africa on the globe), I would be called a RACIST.

But I guess they realize that it would look foolish to call it NAAAAP.

Or, come to think of it, I may be wrong. Maybe the the NAACP now stands for other "COLORED" people, like Koreans, Chinese, Indians (for the historically and geographically challenged, those from INDIA, ASIA), Viet Namese, Japanese, Native Americans and Eskimos.

No, forget it! Based on what NAACP members/subscribers/affiliates did to Koreans in New York and Los Angeles, that is probably an impossible hope.

They are just hypocrites, just like their chairman Mr. Ben Jealous, who looks like he has about 90% of the hated and despised white blood in his veins.
