More Police Cruelty: Arizona To Investigate Bloody Arrest Of Grandfather At WalMart..

Well....I lived in Arizona for 15 years. What I can say about the police in Arizona is that they are a gang unto themselves. In my experience and through my acquaintances with two retired Phoenix judges and a slew of lawyers, I can say that the Arizona police are corrupt, brutal, flat out liars who have no problem stomping on someone for no reason and manufacturing evidence, and treat the public with complete disdain. The judges I refer to retired because as they put it to me "justice can not be served in Arizona. The system is too corrupt."

Just my experiences from living there

It is not fair you giving this assessment and you dont even know what its like in Arizona. :doubt:

I'd say spending 15 years of my life there gives me a pretty damn good idea what it's about. Sheesh

Oh NOOOooooo... cops NEVER use EXCESSIVE FORCE... shit... there's more of this kind of video on the internet than one can post on here... just google it... or go to youtube...

CLEARLY, some of these people should NOT be cops...

I lived in Phoenix, (Apache Junction then Deer Valley), for 4 years myself, and such was the same experience I had with Johnny Law there. They acted more like Nazi SS troops than "to serve and protect" policemen that worked for the people.

Yeah....you know Arizona can be a damned rough place so I understand the need for the cops to feel they have to be aggressive, BUT I mean they act like complete tyrants for something as simple as a traffic stop....boy could I tell a story about that.

I was not raised in Arizona. I grew up in the northwest and I always had a strong respect for the police. At least when it comes to Arizona that's completely gone now. To the point that when I hear about an Arizona cop doing something like this my first reaction is "yeah that sounds about right" where for anywhere else I have lived my first reaction is "what did the people who were busted do to bring it on themselves?"

But the best way I can explain it in regards to Arizona is you have the criminals on one side, the cops on the other, and everyone else is simply stuck in the crossfire. I'm glad I left.

Because of what the people in the video are saying. They obviously witnessed it, and the fact that the guy was laying face first in a pool of his blood.

Not that complicated.

And witnesses are so reliable.

Fact is the man was seen placing merchandise under his shirt when the police tried to detain him he resisted. The police then took him down using a "leg sweep" where the man busted his nose and was subsequently placed in handcuffs. The man was charged with shoplifting and resisting arresting and his bond was set at $900.00 dollars. So far no charges have been levied against the officers.

Research the story a little more there was more than one video of the incident.

I've got to run to the feed store and then out to feed the horses.

Later!
Sorry man, but I call bull shit!

David Chadd, a CNN iReporter from Las Vegas, was among the crowd shopping for video games set up in the Walmart's grocery section. He said Newman "was not resisting" arrest as he was led away from the crowd by a police officer.
That officer, Chadd said, then suddenly hooked the suspect around the leg, grabbed him and "slammed him face first into the ground."
"It was like a bowling ball hitting the ground, that's how bad it was,"
he said.

The cops had no reason to do that. They're going to get sued by this guy, and I hope he wins. I also hope the cops get fired and charged with police brutality and first degree assault.

Yes the witnesses will have the final say in this. The Police wont be allowed to lie their way out of this one. Too many witnesses around.

Stupid roided-up mongoloids. There are way too many of these mongoloids on our Police Force. Stuff like this happens every day. That's why i always say have recording equipment handy when dealing with the Police. This moron probably went back to the Station and filed a report claiming this woman was part of the Taliban and tried to kill him. Police lie all the time and guess what? They get away with it 99% of the time. Your word against theirs does't cut it. Always make your own recordings of the incidents. I know this one was a Police camera but no one should only count on that. Do your own recording. Play it safe.

Yes blame the victim because we most certainly can't blame the Police. Man,you just can't get through to the Authority-Worshippers. Is it men in black uniforms carrying all those weapons that does it for em? Such bizarre worship. It really does remind you of how much German Citizens worshipped their Gestapo. I guess it is a psychological thing.

The police are not going to attempt an arrest without a reason.

The "victim" as you call him, hid merchandise in his shirt which is an illegal act, then he resisted arrest, another illegal act. Had the subject not hid items under his clothes the police would have no cause to attampt an arrest.

So how is this the LEO's fault?

I carry about the same amount of weapons on me as a police officer does.

This is fantastic. If after the "investigation", you know, when cops investigate themselves, they find that the cops were wrong and the grandfather DID NOT RESIST, will you come back here and say you were wrong?

I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong. But that rarely happens because I am rarely wrong. :)

The claim is made that the man didn't resist arrest. So when the officer was escorting him out he MUST have been under arrest at that time therefore he was in cuffs. After all the first thing an officer does during an arrest is place the subject in handcuffs and mirandize them.

So tell me why was the man not in cuffs when he was on the ground?

No one has ever made that claim. I'm surprised that you would resort to liberal tactics, like dishonesty.

There is no proof of excessive force in this case. You have witnesses testimony that contradicts the video.

Well first of all I can assure you that when it goes to trial there will be several cops who will claim to be witnesses that will testify that he was resisting. Now this will be a total lie, of course, but that's how Arizona cops work.

Secondly, and I found this out the hard way, there's this law in Arizona that says essentially that if a cops "feels threatened" he may arrest with force. Now how I discovered that lovely law was because I didn't come to a complete stop at a stop sign, the cop stood there forever reading me the riot act, bitching at me like I had just raped his daughter, and finally I said something like "look, just give me my ticket so I can get to work and save the attitude for the rapists and murders." He pulled me out of the car, on went the cuffs, "accidentally" bounced my head off the door frame as he put me in the squad car, and off to the station we went. I was not resisting although I passionately stated the degree to which it was total bullshit.

On the stand he testified that I was threatening him with physical violence and I got to enjoy six months of anger management classes. The fucking cop grinned at me like the cat that got the canary on the way out of the courtroom too. I learned later that that kind of shit is run of the mill in Arizona and I am damned lucky I wasn't charged with assaulting a police officer which they can do for verbal statement.

I won't say this about other states police because I have never had any run-ins with them, but Arizona cops........they're thugs and that's all there is to it.

Spot-On and i'm sorry to hear you had all that trouble with the Gestapo. Yea our Police just have too much power now. I'm sure these idiot cops in this incident will claim they thought he was an Al Qaeda Terrorist who was about to beat them to death with his Grandson's video game. Always always have your own recording equipment on hand when dealing with the Police. Because your word against theirs just isn't gonna work for you. The system is so corrupt now. We have to always be watching them because they will lie and abuse their power when they know they can get away with it. I feel for ya man. I really do.

Was this a city cop or one of Arpaio's storm trooper sheriff's?

Texas. You have to love people from Texas. I mean, there is Bush, Perry, this guy Lonestar. All the same.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the guy was accosted and beaten in the store and at that point he hadn't shoplifted anything yet.

That's what most yankees say. But us Texans are smart enough to see the differences.

You're wrong.

The guy was caught stealing, although he says he was just hiding merchandise from fellow shoppers, and when the police went to detain him he resisted. The cop took him down with a leg sweep and subsequently cuffed him. The man did manage to bust his nose on the ground which bled profusely. The man was charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest and his bond was set at $900.00.

I think you're wrong.

It's not shoplifting until he tries to leave the store without paying.

He was stashing a game for his Grandson during a Black Friday rush and was suspected of trying to shoplift. The Gestapo then rushed in and decided to smash his face into the ground. But you can't explain that to the Nazi 'Police are always right' wingnuts on this Board. They just can't fathom the idea of the Police being wrong. It just wont register. Crazy stuff.

According to Arizona law, deliberately concealing an item for sale is considered shoplifting even if the person concealing the item has not left the store.

BTW You shouldn't think.

According to AZ law he was stealing. The judge thought so too.
