The lead story out of the mainstream political press this year has been that establishment conservatism “tamed” the Tea Party, and to the extent that a number of Tea Party challengers lost to establishment conservatives in GOP primaries, this is true. But it’s also a fact that McConnell’s caucus is about to get considerably more conservative than it had been, with the addition of seven very conservative senators: Ernst, Perdue, Colorado’s Cory Gardner, Nebraska’s Ben Sasse, Montana’s Steve Daines, Arkansas’s Tom Cotton, and North Carolina’s Thom Tillis.4

Of course it is. We're free, safe, and are taxed less than we have been in 80 years. We have clean running water, city sewage systems, roadways that are built, then maintained. All that costs a lot of money. Call a construction company and ask how many millions of dollars it would be to build 100 yards of approved Interstate.

If you had bothered to pay attention you'd have known that my comment was in regards to the value of education in the US today. On that front, we do not get much for our tax dollars. Tax dollars get you a generally worthless HS diploma, and a mountain of debt to pursue higher education and technical training.
