The GOP mounted vicious attacks on how the healthcare bill would bankrupt us. We needed a bill that would pass CBO muster and this one actually makes money over the long run.

How anyone can believe that a government run socialist program will work? Ever hear of Medicaid and Medicare? They were anotehr Democratic party panacea cureall. For ease of reference I group them together under the generic term Medifraud.

Medifraud was supposed to keep poor folks from going without medical care.
It failed.

Medifraud was supposed to be financed by the regressive Medifraud taxes.
It failed at that as well

Now we have a new version of Medifraud and we are being told it will fix all the woes and be paid for by the taxes they want to collect to cover it.

Virginia wasn't a surprise, but on Election night when Indiana and North Carolina went Blue anyone with a basic knowledge of math knew that McCain was done.

If the second is what you mean, then you're either an idiot (or racist) who thinks that non-whites don't have jobs or kids, or you're an idiot (or racist) that thinks non-whites lack "wisdom, experience, and knowledge running this nation.""

I follow. Electorally, Obama was a landslide by most standards. In the Popular vote I don't think there's been a landslide winner in at least....50 years or so? (EDIT: Ok, Reagan beat Mondale 58.8 to 40.6 percent in the Popular vote. I'd call that a landslide). I'd have to look back on the counts to see for sure.

To be honest though, I'd say that Obama's electoral landslide was less about him, or his agenda, and more about:
1. Bush's final term in office
2. Palin.
I know a lot of folks that were lifelong Republican voters that pulled the lever for Obama because of Sarah Palin. I myself was on the fence until McCain picked her. I'd voted for Bush twice (Gore and Kerry were idiots. I couldn't vote for either with a clear conscience), but Palin secured my Obama vote. Should she be the GOP candidate, I know I'll vote for Obama again, as will many many others.

That's why I'm pulling for Mitt candidacy. I know I could vote for him.
