The Israelis in the south have 30 to 40 seconds to get to an air raid shelter after the alarm sounds, yet these 30 to 40 second warning save many Israeli lives. Air raid alarms and bomb shelter could save many lives in Gaza. If you are so concerned by the loss of life in Gaza, why aren't you angry that Hamas has chosen to give the people of Gaza the same chance to save their lives as the Israelis have?

Hamas was believed to have 12,000 rockets, many firing platforms, anti tank weapons and perhaps anti aircraft weapons in addition to many mortars and machine guns. All of these weapons as well as factories for the manufacture of rockets and mortars are located in residential areas for obvious reasons. If they moved them to open areas, say south of Gaza City, Israel would immediately blow them up, but as long as bombing these weapons is likely to cause civilian casualties, Israel waits until Hamas' depredations against the Israeli people reach levels that makes the force Israel will have to use and the collateral damage the Israeli response will cause is proportionate to the value of protecting the Israeli people from them.

Since 2005.....Israel has launched tens of thousands of Airstrikes that did kill thousands of Palestinians in Gaza.

One example of the thousands would be the 2009 Gaza war. 1400 killed.
