Exactly like we said... UPS passing on the wage/benefits increases to all of us.

No link, because I received this today as a worldship member of UPS.

Here is the email I received today -

This summer, UPS and the U.S. Teamsters reached a new five-year labor agreement that rewards our hardworking people and sets us up to better serve you. We want to thank you for continuing to trust us with your shipping needs.

At UPS, we are committed to investing in the best team in the industry, innovative technology, and an unmatched global network. This is all to ensure that you can serve your customers with needed speed and reliability. To help you plan ahead, here is a summary of our rate changes for 2024.

  • Effective December 3, 2023, UPS Air Freight rates within and between the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico will increase an average net 6.3%.
  • Effective December 26, 2023, the rates for UPS® Ground, UPS® Air and International will increase an average net 5.9%.
The teamsters union choosing to strike with a record wage increase asking, and better benefits - at a time of national RECORD inflation for over 50 years is 100% going to increase inflationary pressures on virtually every American consumer.

And here it is.
6% increase is HUGE. Every single item you buy online - prices will increase on those items due to this increase as those companies pass that cost on. Even buying local, especially smaller businesses, they receive their goods overwhelmingly via UPS.
They will be forced to raise their prices more.

Thank you Teamsters Union for contributing to a national problem.

Like fast food is doing now, the shipping industry will continue to automate and eliminate human jobs.

Nope, not at all. All these people did was get themselves higher pay, something we all strive to do.
Still a strawman.
The issue is, like all conservatives said when liberals were virtue signaling over this, that the raise will not be paid by UPS. But by everyday Americans everywhere.
At a time of the highest inflation in over 50 years, the highest food inflation in recorded history and an economy that is teetering - this is not a good thing.
That is the issue. Once again, like all liberals, you never address the situation. Rather try to formulate the argument into something else you have a better chance of winning.

Good, that means less and less people will be poorer -- and you can be happy

The rest of us are looking towards re-educating the workforce for the 21st century; instead of celebrating the destruction of the working class

Inflation is the lowest of any developed country in the world......lowest unemployment in decades (lower than anytime during your cult leader's tenure) -- and you are whining about everyday Americans getting paid a decent wage for their labor

But none of you pussies are demanding that these GOP candidates campaign on lower wages....why?

Why didn't those huge taxcuts lead to all of these higher wages??

Just the same as any other job out there, the employer is never going to eat the cost.

So, if you had been in their shoes you would have fought against the raise just for the good of the country? Is that the lie you are trying to pass off?

For sure, it's not even close. UPS dominates for a reason. FedEx is what you use when you don't care when your customer gets it.
I honestly can't argue with that. UPS not only is a faster, more reliable delivery service but it keeps you closely updated on where your stuff is. The USPS also does that these days but tends to be slower than UPS. At least in our personal experience here.

But delivery can be expensive.

Hombre (my hubby) had a hip replacement not all that long ago and our son stayed with us to help out in the early going. When he left I found he left his really light travel kit containing his blood pressure meds. The kit weighed maybe a pound if that. But overnighting it to his place five hours driving time from ours was $76!!! That is painful.

UPS and it’s investors could take a smaller profit margin.

But no..you blame the workers.

Funny how the price index hasn't slowed consumer spending..

Again...why don't you dic suckers demand your GOP candidates campaign on lower wages for the benefit of the corporate elite?

Re inflation the U.K. has more problems with us but they are about the only ones in the developed world:

And as for the tax cuts and wages:
". . .Income data published by the IRS clearly show that on average all income brackets benefited substantially from the Republicans' tax reform law, with the biggest beneficiaries being working and middle-income filers, not the top 1 percent, as so many Democrats have argued. . ."

As for federal revenues and personal wealth/income:

". . .The Biden White House issued a press release claiming “the Trump tax cuts had added $2 trillion to deficits over a decade.”

But the numbers tell a different story. Despite the political rhetoric, tax revenues are up.

Adjusting the forecasts to actual 2022 dollars, prior to the tax cuts the government projected $40.7 trillion of income tax, corporate tax, and payroll tax revenues between 2018 and 2027. The latest budget forecasts project $41.3 trillion of revenues for that period. Instead of reducing revenues by $1.5 trillion, the latest forecasts suggest tax revenues will come in $570 billion higher than expected. . .

. . .Real median household incomes grew by more than $5,000 in 2018 and 2019 alone. By contrast, in the 30 years prior to 2017, real median household income grew by a total of $7,600, or about $250 per year. . ."

Our financial problems are not due to the Trump economy. Our problems are due almost entirely to an irresponsible Congress spending trillions of dollars that do not have to be spent and that we do not have so must borrow.

An increase in UPS rates is due partly to their wage/benefit increases but were inevitable due to the inflation great exacerbated by that irresponsible Congress.

Every time Republicans are not in the white house, they whine just like this.........

But its funy how for the last 30 or so years, whenever a Republican is entering the white house, the economy is not a disaster....but every time a Democrat entered the white house, the economy is a disaster

When Clinton entered.....the campaign motto was "it's the economy stupid" -- why? Because the Bush Sr economy wasn't great....which is why he lost.....

When Bush Jr entered the White House, the economy was not a disaster......not even the most delusional right-winger makes that claim...

When Obama entered the White House....the economy was a disaster....so much of a disaster, even the most delusional right-winger tries to pretend Bush never existed or was somehow a secret Democrat...why? Because he was a disaster....

When Trump entered the white house, he was taking credit for Obama's economy before his term even started.....

When Biden entered the white house, the economy was a disaster.......no matter how much you morons whine about inflation, the economy is not a disaster....if it was, all of those elections this past Tuesday wouldn't have seen Republicans getting demolished...

Funny how the price index hasn't slowed consumer spending..

Yeah... there is not one candidate running on lowering wages.
And once again, all you people do is try to formulate the argument into something else that isn't the argument at all.
The argument is, again, conservatives told you idiots that this would happen.
If the Teamsters union get raises and benes for the workers - it isn't the company that is going to actually pay those wages. That never happens. And will never happen - ever. Even one time.
And here we are - UPS raises their rates to cover the higher labor cost.

I don't recall posting anything about 'disasters' nor do any of the links I posted. Maybe you should be responding to somebody else?
