Economy loses 33,000 jobs in September biggest drop in seven years

Unemployment rate dropped to 4.2%

Hurricane hit: U.S. lost 33,000 jobs in September

The United States lost 33,000 jobs in September as the economy took a hit from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. It was the first monthly decline in jobs in seven years.
The jobless rate dropped to 4.2%, the lowest since 2001.

Economists had been expecting an increase of 90,000 jobs, even after accounting for the hurricanes. But the economists and Labor Department expect the decline to be short-lived as employers closed by the storm in Houston and Florida are able to reopen.

Lets see if we can rebound in October
Well last month everything was because of Obama.

Happy to see now we have finally crossed the threshold and the left will never again claim Obama is responsible for the current state of the economy.

It has been 9 months since Trump took office, righties were taking the credit one month after Trump got in.

That’s not true.

Righties we’re taking credit for job growth since the election.

Job creation has been declining every since Trump took office. Now he has finally caused it to go negative.
So CNN lied?
"It was the first monthly decline in jobs in seven years."

Not sure if anyone corrected you on this, but job creation can be declining but still be positive.

For example the number of jobs

Month 1= 10
Month 2= 8
Month 3= 6
Month 4= 5
[...]
Month 8=3
Month 9= -2

Months 1-8 are declining but not negative.

I look forward to this thread next month when the hurricane jobs are back and the rest of the nation continues to recover from the Obama Error.
It will be....interesting. My prediction is a gain of over 300,000, which will make the pro-Trumpers singing his praises and spinning it like it's not recovery from the hurricanes, and the anti-Trumpers blaming everything on the hurricanes and not acknowledging any improvement at all.

Well, the left made their own bed by taking employment figures during a month where most of the south closed.

Karma is a bitch.

Trump is already increasing government employment to save his sorry ass. There will be a huge government employment spike in 2019 for the census to help his jobs numbers for his re-election campaign.

Almost 7 years of constant job growth & El Cheeto fucks it up in just 7 months.

And the liberal media didn't even tell us. I had to find this October 30th. If the media were liberal they'd have been all over this but hardly a peep.

Jobs fall by 33,000 in September as hurricanes hammer employment

US lost 33,000 jobs in Sept, vs 90,000 jobs increase expected
  • The U.S. economy lost 33,000 jobs in September even as the unemployment rate fell to 4.2 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports.
  • The jobs loss was the first monthly decline in seven years, when the economy was still pulling out of the Great Recession.

No need to worry. According to this poster, it's Obamas fault.

Yes 2017 economy is Obama's economy. Trumps economy starts Jan 2018.
If companies aren't hiring and letting people go because that's what they do on republicans watch, that's not on obama.

Notice gas prices are higher? Eating up your disposable income? That's happening too. But the oil companies love it

Gas prices should actually be lower as Winter gas is less expensive than Summer gas.

They'll say the President doesn't have anything to do with gas prices but when Trump promised to make the Gas and Coal companies great again, you can bet you'll be seeing $3 gas soon.

And don't forget what Trump said

A MILLION people left the workforce & pay went down. 79% living paycheck to paycheck up 3% from last year. Way to go Trump!

Obama had real growth for years, we are now in the Trump economy however.

A million people left the workforce?

What the fuck is wrong with you people??

jan/2009: 154,210,000
jan/2017: 159,716,000

A net gain of 5.5 million; not a loss of 1 million.
