CEOs make lousy Presidents yet the Republicans continue to foist them upon us..

The GOPā€™s autocratic ā€œbusinessmanā€ obsession: Why running a company is horrible training for running the country
It had been Mitt Romney. Now it's Donald Trump. Republicans are in love with the idea of the president as CEO

Back in 2012, as Mitt Romney was doing his best to capture the presidency from Barack Obama, he made some silly comments on why, as such an accomplished businessman (i.e., corporate raider) he would make a tremendous leader of the free world. After speaking to a restaurant owner, Romney buoyantly recalled the conversation:

ā€œHe said, ā€˜You know, Iā€™d like to change the Constitution,ā€‰Iā€™d like to have a provision in the Constitution that in addition to the age of the president and the citizenship of the president and the birthplace of the president ā€¦ Iā€™d like it also to say that the president has to spend at least three years working in business before he could become president of the United States.ā€™ā€

We've had two " businessman " Presidents and both were horrible failures.

Both of them increased the national debt by large amounts.

Businessmen think people have to do what they want / say and fail to understand that Congress and the U.S. government doesn't work that way.

As much as they might like to, they can't fire Congressmen.

It takes someone who can persuade people to do things, not someone to ORDER people to do things.

It takes a POLITICIAN to manage people and persuade them.

Swallow,

How would you know if a CEO would make a bad president. Who was the last CEO elected president?

Just because bed wetting libtards like you are programmed to hate CEO's you react to the possibility negatively. If you had even the slightest ability to think critically you might consider the fact that a good CEO just might manage the nation's budget efficiently. Yet here you sit smugly self assured that the reason people despise your moonbat messiah is because something is wrong with them.

Never mind the idiot has never had a real job where a salary was earned for some productivity or merit. You will steadfastly ignore every failure, every illegal act, every stupid statement and the fact that the meat muppet once proclaimed he would cut the debt in half and then DOUBLED IT.

You moonbats prove that I am dead on when I say that you're weapons grade stupid, because ignorance like yours is truly detrimental to the health of the nation.

You two should not have a problem with Ted Cruz if that's how y'all feel about it.

Absolutely.

But you vote for a community complainer that never has held a job?

It takes someone who can persuade people to do things, not someone to ORDER people to do things.

And that is how business is run. If you think that being a manager or some other type of leader in a place of employment is all about barking orders and firing people who don't comply, then you're sadly mistaken and betraying your utter lack of experience in the real world. Or at least your inability to ever amount to much of anything because you never figured out how to get along with the neighborhood kiddies.

Very rarely do I ever "order" anyone to do anything. At the end of the day, all of my staff are free to quit their jobs on a moment's notice if they want. I can't stop them from doing so. Ordering people around doesn't generally create very good morale. Only in severe situations when I've had to deal with someone being highly and unreasonably resistant to performing base functions and instructions have I ever had to pull out the "Do it, period" card. Even then, I prefer to simply point out that what's being asked of them is a vital function for their job and that they have the choice as to whether they want to work in that job.

That isn't to say that their aren't bad managers out there. There are tons of them. But you are falsely characterizing the role of a manager with traits that are specifically characteristic of people who are low skilled managers. That's the logical equivalent of saying that doctors make bad Presidents because they'll simply wait for Congress to die if they don't agree with them.

DONALD TRUMP --inherited 400 MILLION dollars. It's clear he doesn't have a brain, but he sure had enough money to buy brains. DO NOT try and compare Trump with Mitt Romney who has brains.

Trump also has this habit of using OTHER peoples money to invest. And as we saw he bankrupted 4 companies which created massive lay-offs, and left lenders and investors holding the bag on billions of dollars. What did the Trump supporters do after this news? They laughed about it.

Also, how many times do you need to be told that Donald Trump cannot CHANGE the constitution!! It takes 2/3's of the senate and congress, plus 3/4's of the states to ratify changes or amendments to the constitution to change it. Trump would have absolutely nothing to do with changing the 14th amendment.
Constitutional Amendments - How is the Constitution amended?

If you want a REAL CEO--it's Carly Fiorina. You know the one that kicked Donald Trump's ass on foreign policy regarding questions that were asked by a CONSERVATIVE talk show host to both of them, that she could answer and he couldn't. Trump got mad, then turned into that 6 year old spoiled brat and attacked "her face."
Trump stymped on terror questions but Carly knows the answers cold

Carly Fiorina as CEO of Hewlett Packard managed 150,000 employees, She also got them through the worst Tech Sector crash of 2000/2001 where in the month of November ALONE 3 trillion dollars rushed out of this market. Thousands of people were laid off in this industry during that time. Many TECH companies did not survive that, but Hewlett Packard is a thriving company today.

Former board members that voted to fire Fiorina are now endorsing her for POTUS. Citing that the decisions that she made back then (that they didn't like) have proved to be good, and Hewlett Packard has exploded in new growth markets because of Carly Fiorina's decisions.
Ex-HP board member who voted to fire Fiorina endorses her

Carly Fiorina is the best candidate the Republican Party has had since Ronald Reagan. The more you listen, the more you know it!

reagan was a governor and ceo of sag. there are more examples.

Well, she wants to eliminate cap gains and the estate tax and lower rates. guess who that benefits? LOL

Against gay marriage, but civil unions are OK.

Against citizenship for illegals, unless they came here legally but didn't leave when their visas expired. Guess who that predominately hurts? Hint hint, she wants to expand high tech workers visas. And that may be a good thing, but she don't like Mexs.

Dodd Frank and Wall St regulation .... gonna get rid of that.

Against net neutrality .. who'd a thunk. LOL

Min wage ... gonnna get rid of that. See Mexs above.

Maternity leave .... gonna get rid of that, unless the employer wants to keep it. Guess who that predominantly hurts? LOL

Vaccination .. up to the parents.

Obamacare, repeal and set up high risk federally supported exchanges. Actually, I'm not totally against that, but it doesn't go far enough. Guess who that would hurt?

Pro school vouchers. Actually, I'm not against that.

Waffles on the "war on drugs."

Opposed the stimulus act.

Wants Roe overruled and was endorsed by pro-life.

Against the Iran deal, though had no better idea, and wants to confront Putin more.

Meh..no.

President Barack Obama, despite your clown, whining, will go down as one of the greats.

President George W. Bush, who you folks and Anton Scalia, shoved down everyone's throats, will go down as one of the worst. And he was a CEO.

I don't think it really matters. Being a CEO doesn't mean you will perform any better or worse than someone that is not head of company.

I think we need a constitutional amendment forbidding lawyers from holding public office.
