CEO Presidents.

CEOs make lousy Presidents yet the Republicans continue to foist them upon us..

The GOPā€™s autocratic ā€œbusinessmanā€ obsession: Why running a company is horrible training for running the country
It had been Mitt Romney. Now it's Donald Trump. Republicans are in love with the idea of the president as CEO

Back in 2012, as Mitt Romney was doing his best to capture the presidency from Barack Obama, he made some silly comments on why, as such an accomplished businessman (i.e., corporate raider) he would make a tremendous leader of the free world. After speaking to a restaurant owner, Romney buoyantly recalled the conversation:

ā€œHe said, ā€˜You know, Iā€™d like to change the Constitution,ā€‰Iā€™d like to have a provision in the Constitution that in addition to the age of the president and the citizenship of the president and the birthplace of the president ā€¦ Iā€™d like it also to say that the president has to spend at least three years working in business before he could become president of the United States.ā€™ā€

SwimExpert, it's not all about issuing orders but every boss has that as a last resort. Many do use it as their only tool, though.

A President DOES NOT have that tool available at all but they don't really understand that on a gut level.

They have ALWAYS been able to issue orders if they wanted to / thought they should.

A President cannot order Congress or the Judicial branch to do squat.

And businessmen just don't get that.

===============

It takes someone who can persuade people to do things, not someone to ORDER people to do things.

If you think that being a manager or some other type of leader in a place of employment is all about barking orders and firing people who don't comply,

I think we need a constitutional amendment forbidding lawyers from holding public office.

How about a 20 year moratorium on any new laws. We already have enough to last several lifetimes. If something really important happens, don't call us we'll call you to come back to DC

Against gay marriage, but civil unions are OK.

Against citizenship for illegals, unless they came here legally but didn't leave when their visas expired. Guess who that predominately hurts? Hint hint, she wants to expand high tech workers visas. And that may be a good thing, but she don't like Mexs.

Maternity leave .... gonna get rid of that, unless the employer wants to keep it. Guess who that predominantly hurts? LOL

Vaccination .. up to the parents.

Obamacare, repeal and set up high risk federally supported exchanges. Actually, I'm not totally against that, but it doesn't go far enough. Guess who that would hurt?

Pro school vouchers. Actually, I'm not against that.

Waffles on the "war on drugs."

Opposed the stimulus act.

Guess who her tax plan helps? The ones who actually pay the most taxes.

Seems you have a problem with telling the difference between talking points & reality.
