Can USMB Consider Merging All The 'I Hate Donald Trump!' Posts Into Just A Couple?

It's because Trump is so hateable. Apparently there aren't enough mods on to consolidate some of these identical threads, like the ones on Meryl Street dissing Trump and the ones on Golly It's Cold So Global Warming Doesn't Exist.
I'm guessing you're a conservative, so you aren't noticing all the repetitive boring threads from that end?

I don't mind folks expressing hate for Trump. But the flooding has gotten out of control. I think we need more merging of same-themed posts, and limiting Posters to maybe 3-4 thread-starter posts per forum, per week.
Limiting OP's is not a bad idea, but I'm sure the software can't keep track of that. There was a Trump forum here around election time and all the libs were in there insulting him all the time. Is it gone?

Yeah, i'm not proposing limiting reply posts. I'm only proposing limiting thread-starter posts. Each Poster should be limited to maybe 3-4 thread-starters per forum per week. I don't know about the forum you mentioned. I'll check it out. But an 'Anti-Trump' forum could ease the flooding problem.
You seem to be kinda new here, so you don't realize yet that keeping anti-Trump sentiment (or anti-Obama sentiment) in a particular forum is impossible here. It doesn't matter what your thread starts as, it turns into a hate Trump or Obama thread. People aren't too smart, is all I can figure.

I hear ya, but it can be checked. More merging or moving and limiting posters to maybe 3 thread-starter posts per forum per week, would likely ease the flooding. And it would promote some diversity and creativity. Right now, the repetitive insanity is destroying the site. It's gotten to be so boring and annoying.
It's a good idea. It's unusual to get constructive criticism around here. Hope it leads to something!

The easier solution is placing the largest offenders of repetitive Trump haters on ignore. Personally I have a bet on which one strokes out first, so no way will I ignore them.

It seems the Politics Forum especially, is being flooded massively with 'I Hate Donald Trump!' thread-starter posts. Could USMB consider merging all the same-themed Anti-Trump thread-starters into just a few posts?

I mean we get it, some folks really hate Donald Trump. So can we ease the flooding a bit? I really do enjoy USMB. I make this suggestion in the hopes of improving the site. The repetitive stuff makes the site come off as boring and uncreative. Anyway, thanks for possibly considering my suggestion.
Does the phrase 'sauce for the goose...' ring a bell? Or perhaps pots and kettles calling one another black?

All these years of the USMB haters dissing Obama for even waking up in the morning was tiresome. Now we have a reality TV star, a huckster buffoon waiting in the wings. A massive ego with a Twitter account begs to be shot down as he cuts his way through America with the subtlety of a weed whacker. He needs,,nay BEGS to be hammered daily until the bumpkins who believed in his message of fear get the message. No mandate, tepid support and a quick four years and out!

I think a mod needs to merge these threads that are whining about threads that need to be merged.
Take a look--a mod just started a Meryl Streep outrage thread ! Thread #bazillion and one this morning. LOL

Oh boy, i guess there isn't much hope. Hey i tried though.

Got the message. The problem really is that we don't judge content. If someone wants to discuss their opinion, or ask questions for discussion, and the thread is started by the rules -- we'll protect it and keep it open and clean. We are also not literary critics. So style, punctuation, even logic or reason is not a requirement ... :lmao:

What CAN be done is for folks to REPORT duplications. It's annoying for everyone. And it screws up conversations when you're fighting about the same stupid news in 3 different threads.

What appears to you to be useless --- usually has links to the NYTimes or Slate or some other partisan source that VALIDATES it's importance. If it's actually news -- it's not garbage.

I'm fine with folks expressing hate for Donald Trump. It's just so out of control. The numerous same-themed 'I Hate Trump' posts just need to be moved or merged into a couple posts. Right now, it's the same 2 or 3 posters flooding the forums with repetitive insanity. It's especially the case in the Politics Forum. There needs to be some limits established. Some kind of limit on the number of thread-starter posts per poster.

I mean go to the Politics Forum right now. You'll quickly see that it's the same 2 or 3 posters just flooding the forum with 'I hate Donald Trump' thread-starter posts. It's out of hand. I hope USMB recognizes it and addresses it. I really do like the site. But it's getting to be so boring and annoying watching the same couple of posters flooding away.

If it really were an "I hate Trump" stream of threads, you could consolidate them. Only that's not the case.

For instance.

1. There is the matter of Trump's massive debt.

2. Then there is Trump's illegal, uncertified and unlicensed Foundation.

3. Then you have Trump's odd and un American admiration of despot Vladimir Putin.

4. Then you have all the racist things he said such as "Mrs. Housekeeping" and "some Mexicans don't rape and another dozen just related to Mexicans.

5. Then you have all his comments about women.

6. Then there are the scary comments about nuclear weapons.

7. The war with the intelligence community.

8. And then he said he likes American soldiers that weren't captured and how he had to be shamed into paying money to veterans he promised.

9. Then all the unvetted billionaires he's nominating.

10. And the Nepotism.

See what I mean? You can't fit it all into one thread. Each one of these is it's own scandal. Normally, a person would be involved in only one of these at a time. Trump has another couple of dozen I haven't even mentioned.

So stop whining. It is what it is.

I've been here since August 2009. You've been here four weeks. You should have seen the deluge of Obama hatred threads during my tenure. The President of the United States has been attacked on this site for governing, not governing, golfing, using the powers vested in his office by the constitution, not using his constitutional powers, being a secret Muslim, being an overt Muslim, being both a Communist and a Fascist simultaneously, being a Black man, being a homosexual, being a lousy father, being a lousy husband, being a Hawaiian, a Chicagoan, a Kenyan. In short, for being other than an old White man, the traditional type casting Conservatives have become accustomed to.

If all those reasons and more apparently worked, for, the site, watch what happens when the huckster buffoon lets loose his Twitter account on the mundane, the banal and the low brow.

The difference here is that Trump's scandals are real. They are all on videotape. There is the criminal investigation into Trump's illegal foundation and all that debt and so on. It's all real. All in court document or directly from Trump live. We aren't making any of it up. Trump is providing all the material himself.

I think the several 'Anti-Trump' thread-starter posts could be moved or merged. They're same-themed and repetitious. I'm even proposing an 'Anti-Trump' Forum for y'all. I think that could ease the flooding in other Forums.

I also think there should be a limit on how many thread-starter posts individual posters can post per day or week. The site needs a shot in the arm. Just a couple posters are flooding and hijacking Forums. Once they're reigned in, the site could see some diversity and creativity return.

The new limits would apply to all posters. It's become so boring and annoying seeing the same couple of posters hijacking Forums with numerous repetitive thread-starter posts. A limit on thread-starter posts per poster, could get the flooding problem under control.

Very well said.

My secret wish is for some new software that automatically assigns obvious troll posts to the flame zone.

It could be called "The Guno Room".

I think i may have come up with a solution... Maybe create an 'Anti-Trump' Forum? Flooding there would be acceptable. But i would also suggest, Posters should be limited to 3-4 thread-starter posts per week. That would definitely ease the flooding problem.

yeah thats the BEST idea.maybe it will stop all these shills that have penetrated this site from trolling.

We should just rename USMB the I hate Trump board. IHTB

You guys are never happy. How many times have you complained that I have bumped old threads? Now you two are complaining there are too many anti Trump threads?

So then you should like it when I bump an old thread. Or should I create a new thread every time a random thought pops into my head?

Make up your minds. Do you or do you not want us creating new I hate Trump threads? Because I can easily find old ones. I don't need to start a new thread. There's tons out there.

Exactly.

Same with all the "I hate Clinton" threads....

If there is no real topic to the thread - like it's just a rant about the orange cheeto with no particular point - it will likely be moved to Badlands. If it's on something he's done or said - and the member hates Trump because of that - it's likely fair game for discussion.

It's just going to get worse as more and more people come to realize that Donald Trump as President was a horrible idea.

That's fine. But the flooding insanity needs to be checked. We get the fact that some folks hate Donald Trump. But the numerous repetitive thread-starter posts really is hurting the site. It's becoming so boring and annoying. I'm even proposing creating an 'Anti-Trump' forum. I'm also proposing limiting posters to 3-4 thread-starter posts per week. You haven't figured out the mods here yet, methinks.

They don't give a shit about flooding. The only reason they are mods is so that they can pervert the internet narrative. They don't give a shit about usmb, they don't care about how much traffic they prevent. All they care is how many lies they can get out there.
