Thanks go to truthdoesn'tmattertoheratall for trying so valiantly to change the topic of this thread.

Putting truthdoesn'tmatter's second-hand smear of Boortz to the side,

what the fuck IS the rational behind pretending that it might be a good idea to ever vote for this President again?

What do Rev. Wright, and Lester Maddox have in common? They are/were both democrats.. teeee heeee heeee

when you write the speaches for a guy like Lester Madox you are writing racist crap people.

You can pretend your guy is not a racist but with these facts in evidence I doubt any people of color will agree with you.

The right : pretending there is no racism in the world while they defend racists.

By that standard was Robert Byrd a racist when he died?

I fully believe that Byrd was a racist when he was back in the Klan (kind of a no-brainer there), I fully believed he realized the error of his ways and changed as he aged.

Don't you think it's a little silly to hold someone to something they did decades ago? People change. Just because someone made a mistake in their youth doesn't damn them to be a bad person for their whole life.

Damn.

I agree 100%.. We all make stupid mistakes in our youth. I'm sure a lot of politicians have things they aren't proud of.. we just don't know about. And quite frankly, when someone goes from being a racist to denouncing racism and becoming a fighter against it.. I think it's a tale of redemption. And that would be the case regardless of political affiliation. Including this governor.. if he changed his opinion on race.

I don't think Maddox ever did, but that says nothing about Boortz. It's a little silly to automatically attribute the characteristics of a boss to the minion.
