I fully believe that Byrd was a racist when he was back in the Klan (kind of a no-brainer there), I fully believed he realized the error of his ways and changed as he aged.

Don't you think it's a little silly to hold someone to something they did decades ago? People change. Just because someone made a mistake in their youth doesn't damn them to be a bad person for their whole life.

And that would be the case regardless of political affiliation. Including this governor.. if he changed his opinion on race.
