Any small government conservatives out there?

Cut spending ideas from LaDexter

Cut the CIA off entirely by sending in the Marines and exterminating every single CIA employee except the bomb sniffing dogs

Cut off the NSA with the same strategy

Cut off all foreign aid, including Israel's.

Take our troops out of Syria because we do not have a dog in that fight

Cut off all funding to fudgebaking liars known as climate "scientists..."

Are there still any small government conservatives.

No, we are all part of the Libertarian Party post W's 8 year Bible Thumping Socialist Porkfest and total sellout of America to the AIPAC lobby...

I left the GOP when W and the Republican Congress socialized senior drugs in 2004. Just how eager was the W Administration to socialize senior drugs and hence flood our high schools with taxpayer funded OxyContin and Lore Tab??

This excited...

Inquiry Confirms Top Medicare Official Threatened Actuary Over Cost of Drug Benefits

By ROBERT PEARJULY 7, 2004
  • An internal investigation by the Department of Health and Human Services confirms that the top Medicare official threatened to fire the program's chief actuary if he told Congress that drug benefits would probably cost much more than the White House acknowledged.

A report on the investigation, issued Tuesday, says the administrator of Medicare, Thomas A. Scully, issued the threat to Richard S. Foster while lawmakers were considering huge changes in the program last year. As a result, Mr. Foster's cost estimate did not become known until after the legislation was enacted.

But neither the threat nor the withholding of information violated any criminal law, the report said. It accepted the Justice Department's view that Mr. Scully had ''the final authority to determine the flow of information to Congress.'' Moreover, it said, the actuary ''had no authority to disclose information independently to Congress.''

Mr. Scully, who resigned in December, in part to become a lobbyist for health care companies, had denied threatening Mr. Foster but had acknowledged having told him to withhold the information from Congress.

The report, by Dara Corrigan, the department's acting principal deputy inspector general, said, ''Our investigation revealed that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services did not provide information requested by Congressional members and staff, and that Scully threatened to sanction Foster if he disclosed unauthorized information.'

The GOP proved, right there, that fiscal conservatism, patriotism to America, and truth were no longer tolerated....

Some truth to this. Voting for W in 2000 is the one I regret the most.

Well, no. LOL

no we are small government, but until you guys are ready to work on entitlements it doesn't matter
By you guys you mean independents? Shouldn't entitlements be down with this economy? Do you support our current government even after the huge spending increases? If so I don't see how you could be a small government conservative.

you are no independent. let's stop that fallacy.

as for the govt, it should spend less, well see the budget next year.

The next budget will not be any smaller, Trump did not run on making the Govt smaller, he just wants to spend more money on different things.
No he did run on it. but if you don't touch entitlements it's not enough to show.
For example he has cut jobs in the federal government, his budget was even more jobs gone.....this is a great place to start

his budget:
Here's How Many Federal Jobs Will Be Killed by Donald Trump's Budget

what he has done
Trump Has Cut Federal Payroll by 24,000 Jobs

So he has cut federal government jobs quite a bit...and plans to do a lot more

but in order to control the deficit, gotta work on the entitlements.

Cutting Fed Govt jobs is a good thing but as you pointed out it is not much of a money saver.

Sent from my iPhone using USMessageBoard.com
true, to make a real dent, we need entitlement reform. Until then cutting jobs is the best thing we can do. We need a lot less beauracrats and politicians that don't take responsibility. Hopefully he can do that. Maybe in 2020 he'll run on some entitlement reform.

Why do we need Zionist controlled "intel" that lies to us every single day?

Why do we need protection from Islamic Terrorists when 911 was a Zionist plot that did not include one single islamic person?

Cut the Federal government back to the size and scope it was during Gingrich/Clinton.

Start with repealing W's socializing of senior drugs at RETAIL COST = ie the drug companies gave no discounts at all, but plenty of checks to the Senators and Reps who voted for flooding America's high schools with OxyContin...
I mean if we ran the govt budget of like 2007 with our income today, we'd have a balanced budget...but people are too blind to see it.FY 2007 Federal Budget and Spending

Who Really Pays Uncle Sam's Bills?
Spending-2.7$ trillion
Estimated revenue for FY19-3.4 Trillion
$700 million surpluss.....we could do more tax cuts, we could pay down the debt (the best option) and we could build a wall....holy shit...what a concept!

Are there still any small government conservatives. The "conservative", right leaning republicans on this board seem to mostly be big government/big spending. They support the increased deficits now that they are Republican deficits. They support corporate welfare and the government picking winners and losers. They support the government picking winners and losers with tariffs. Just curious if there are still any real small government conservatives out there.

Well lets score your post, wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong, wrong. You may want to start over.
Repubs control the government and that is what they are doing. So what is wrong?

Only almost everything you claimed was true.
Well that is what they are doing, you seem to be blind...

I stopped being s republican after w. They haven’t gotten any better...

I am against the current tax cuts, I am against corporate welfare, I am for a balanced budget and would be willing to see taxes go up, only if we would use it in conjunction with lowering the deficit and cutting spending. Unemployment insurance and social security you pay into so these are not entitlements and I have no issue with them.

W, America's worst ever disaster, traitor etc.

Obama is part of W's legacy, as O never gets near the WH if W governs as a patriotic American and fiscal conservative

Sounds good to me. Why is it no politicians are on board?

Hang on, you've been cool, so I wont be a dick.
But
The republicans do have deficits, we're not happy, but they were huge under Obama, gonna take awhile to get them down.
Second in order to really put a dent in them, we need to reform entitlements......

Those things should be bipartisan, but are not.....and the dems may not have the votes to pass, but they have them to filibuster...so it' isn't gonna happen.

That's the reality of the situation, so the republicans are trying to cut a little here and there, and then hopefully we can do something together with the democrats...but you guys need to be willing to forgoe many programs.......it's not going to be easy.

Because you cant get enough to vote for cuts......you guys bring out the school children if we even talk about slowing the growth of the school lunch program (not cut, just not as large of an increase as the previous year)

if you really care about the debt, you need to see the tactics your side employs and all the emotional blackmail they use to stop any cuts from happening.

Lets also clear this up, filthy lying establishment RINO's in the Republican party are not conservatives. Give fiscal conservatives control of the budget and this mess would be cleaned up. We'll start with the nearly $400 BILLION in government waste and fraud that was lost 2016 alone. That's 10% of the Federal budget.

Well I think Trump is working on the waste and doing a good job. I think we can get more there, but entitlements are where we really need to fix it.....and RINOS don't help, but the democrats stop any plan at all....

They just passed a huge increase in spending. Why not just not pass anything? We didn’t need more spending...

I’m not a democrat...

The repubs wanted their spending. We didn’t need more spending. Deficits were declining...
