Ask any military member you can find and ask them what it is like to be forced to retire. If you screw up that big, then it is huge.

AT the end of the day, West saved American and Iraqi lives. And in my book while I view adherence to the UCMJ to be sacrosanct, the goal is to save lives. Sometimes the rules by which our military must abide get in the way of that goal.

You see he was not responsible for that interrogation and he did a horrible job doing it. So bad in fact, the army said, get out and pay us 5k on the way out the door. It was either that or face courts martial.

That is a disgraced army officer at the end of the day. There are rules for a reason and he had no business, none.....to do what he did. Its not like he ws told to do this and he got out of hand, he just decided to do it and the second he did, he was wrong according to the army.
