I can understand why Zelenski would want that, but why would WE sign up to get in a future war with Russia, if what you say about Russia's record for breaking promises is true? There isnt a whole lot in it for the US, unless they grant us mineral rights.

Don't you think, Ukraine would be in a far better situation right now, if the US had no handicapped their ability to use long range weapons for so long? We could have given them a lot more weapons as well. This has hampered Ukraine far more than Russia's fighting capability.

If you gave them more weapons (or gave them earlier) the only possible result would be an earlier Russian start of attacks against Ukrainian industrial infrastructure (or even attacks against 750kV electricity network). And for now Ukraine (as a state) would be in much worse situation, say nothing about much worse situation for the USA themselves.

None of those Zelensky/Putin ceasefire deals involved the presence of American citizens working in Ukraine. If Zelensky hadn't been so stupid and arrogant and Trump's deal came to fruition, Russia would have known better than to further their expansionism. The fact that they never invaded Ukraine during Trump's first term says everything you need to know. Unlike the weak Obama and Biden administration, during which the invasions happened. Trump was right: Had he been elected in 2020, the Ukraine war would have never happened.

2. Ukraine did not provoke Putin to attack. Ukraine is a sovereign country not in Russia's "sphere of influence". What Ukraine does is none of Putin's business.
