That's funny coming from the "I'll have them ******* voting Democrat for the next 200 years" Party, the same Party that Ike had to send in the 82nd Airborne to make them desegregate their schools
Actually, the more reliable version was, "we've lost the south for a generation" , after Johnson pushed and signed one of the most significant civil rights legislation. Your version seems to have come from the bigot pigs who hated that "one person, one vote". Even if he said it, which he may have, the outcome is still the same. Blacks have the same power as whites to vote for the candidate of their choice.
Why are Republicans trying to find new ways to keep minority voting down?
False premise alert.
The GOP is NOT trying to keep minority voting down.
But it is considered a good idea to keep illegal voting down.
I realize you dishonest lib hacks like the notion of being able to have your votes weighted more. For the GOP, it's one person, one vote. For yourselves, though, it's more like one person, 3 or more votes.
So, consider the GOP response to you to consist of the phrase, "No fucking way. Fuck you."
Now, hurry back to fucking yourself.
I wonder, did you consider this post before submitting it?
Let's ask which party pushed for the requirement that Super Majorities are required to raise taxes, or to pass a budget? Of course I'm speaking of the California Legislature which had the effect of giving Republicans - who always seem to vote in lockstep - a vote more powerful than their Democratic colleagues.
Republicans fear democaracy. Republicans seem to be working to reduce democracy in favor of creating a plutocratic republic, one where the elected representatives act in the itnerest of the power elite - the 1%ers.
