The planet has been cooling for millions of years with glacial cycles occurring the past 3 million years. Man has nothing to do with it. The planet is uniquely configured for colder temperatures because both polar regions are thermally isolated from warm marine currents.

I know when man showed up, that is why it is meaningless to show/say 'well it was hotter in the past".

This is not about the planet, the planet does not care.

This is about what the changes will do to humans and how we humans will deal with them.

Yes, warmer is better than colder depending on the level of warmth.

Warm/wet creates a tropical paradise. Warm/dry creates a desert.

Cold/wet creates a temperate zone.
Cold/dry creates a desert.

It's actually the moisture content, or lack thereof, that creates deserts.
