Why would anyone want to have kids?

You haven't read it well, then.

8I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. 9But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

1 Corinthians 7 KJV

Paul said it's better not to marry and have children. Jesus and his disciples didn't have any children that I know of.

The Garden of Eden was the ideal place for having children because mankind lived in harmony with nature. After the Fall of Man, God said that having children would be a source of suffering:

To the woman He said:

“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children;
Genesis is an allegory there is no Fall of Man its the trial for mans freedom by Gods moral teaching. There is no original sin. Adam and Eve are metaphors. The garden is childhood. Adam outgrew it

You are completely wrong. Peter was married. Hell, Jesus cured his mother in law. Philip had four daughters. It is not unrealistic, and is pretty much accepted, that several of the disciples had children. And no, Paul did not, but Paul did not teach that one should not have children, nor did he teach that one should not take a wife. Far from that, he taught that one should not have a wife, or children, until they understood themselves. And that is good advice.

As to Maslow, yes, reproduction is on the bottom rung, but, who is to say that self-actualization doesn't include having children? The most you can be? Now go back to Psalms, as I quoted, children are arrows in a quiver. My children are my army. I am a better man, a stronger man, than I would be without them.
You have no idea what Maslow meant.

Reproduction is not a physical need. Maslow meant food and shelter

The Marxist left discourages children for Americans. It will make it easier to defeat a declining population. That's why they propose every anti-family perverted selfish act. Also note the Catholic Church is the biggest impediment to Marxism. Catholics, of course, encourage having children.

Why do you need some stupid little graph with some stupid foreign-sounding name, to tell you what your needs are?

I have a graduate degree in psychology 30 years experience I have published many papers and Im read worldwide.

Maslow was a highly respected psychologist. His hierarchy of needs is a valuable way to loot at ones life.
Career and contributions
  • Humanistic Psychology: Frustrated with the limitations of psychoanalysis and behaviorism, Maslow co-founded the movement of humanistic psychology, emphasizing the positive potential and growth of individuals, according to Verywell Mind.
  • Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs: His most famous theory, introduced in his 1943 paper "A Theory of Human Motivation" and further elaborated in "Motivation and Personality", proposes a hierarchical model of human needs, from basic physiological necessities to self-actualization, says Verywell Mind.
    • Physiological Needs: Basic survival needs like food, water, sleep, and warmth.
    • Safety Needs: Security, order, stability, and protection from harm.
    • Love and Belonging Needs: Social connections, friendship, intimacy, and a sense of community.
    • Esteem Needs: Self-respect, achievement, competence, recognition, and status.
    • Self-Actualization Needs: The drive to realize one's full potential and achieve personal growth.
  • Peak Experiences and Self-Transcendence: Maslow also explored peak experiences, moments of profound joy and fulfillment, often associated with self-actualization. He later added the concept of self-transcendence, which involves going beyond personal needs to find meaning and contribute to something larger than oneself, according to PositivePsychology.com.

If I didn't have kids, who would run to the refrigerator and grab me a beer?

  • Recent declines in the total fertility rate have pushed it below the population replacement level of 2.1 percent per woman. The Penn Wharton Budget Model (PWBM) microsimulation projects the TFR to remain below this level during the next few decades.
  • Mortality projections suggest improvements in longevity by all groups. College educated individuals enjoy the lowest mortality rates, an advantage that will persist over time.
  • Persistently low fertility will make the balance of births minus deaths negative. A positive, albeit declining, population growth rate will be sustained, however, because of sustained positive net immigration.
  • The shift of baby-boomer workers into retirement portends a decline in the worker-to-retiree ratio from 3.0 today to 2.0 by 2075. A faster annual immigration rate, equal to about 3.5 times the current rate, would be required to restore the ratio over the long term.

I am pretty sure I have forgotten more about Maslow than you will ever know.

Yadda yadda yadda

I didn't study anything for 30 years but I bet I am still smarter than you.

Judging by your responses my cat is smarter than you. How much have you published.
LMAO

You honestly think one's level of intelligence can be judged by how much he/she has published in a peer-reviewed, scientific whatever journal, that I am sure boosts your ego endlessly.

So what have you published? Actually I can see my readers so can you

Yeah, and I am the Prince of Wales. I have been published, first time at 14, but probably not read widely, independent coinage of Colonial America doesn't have a large readership. But my oldest son, he has been published many times, read worldwide, and has been keynote speaker at conferences on four continents. You know what they call that.

You have any kids? Ever had a moment of profound joy and fulfillment? Damn right, I have went beyond personal needs to contribute to something larger than myself, raising those six amazing children. Doctors, business owners, engineers. It feels pretty good at the top of the pyramid. The thing is, it is never a permanent position. Sometimes, you slide down and you have to climb back up. Didn't they teach you that in grad school?
