Zone1 Why does a good God allow evil?

Free will says otherwise. God tolerates what we do. The definition of tolerate is to allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of (something that one does not necessarily like or agree with) without interference.

How can it be "free will" if its logical? If everything is cause and effect based on rules (of logic) then it would be ordained that the action occurred as it did. OK thats probably a completely separate topic though.

That's usually not how it works. We usually discover truth from things we do wrong. You can take almost any written standard and there will be lots of failures that led to the standard being written. Only then will we understand it like you are suggesting.

For clarity, I am agreeing. I am saying if we know enough about why something occurred, we can understand how it was indeed logical. You're saying it better than I am.

I didn't say free will was logical. Humans have free will to do all kinds of things some of which are illogical. The consequences of their actions are logical. It's a self compensating system so to speak. We learn from our mistakes. Or at least we are supposed to learn from our mistakes.

An all knowing god had to flood the entire planet and kill everyone because of evil. So he created us, knew we would **** up, so he kills everyone. And mass slaughters millions more for the same reason, after the fact. Continuous cycle.
It reminds me of the crazy kid down the road that tortures animals for fun. And then shoots up a school, or becomes a serial killer.

God gave you free will so you could choose good or evil. By having free will, you are responsible for your choice. That's just fair, so no one can blame God for going to hell. Everyone is responsible for their choices.

judgement for admission to the heavens ... they know.

the spoken religion of antiquity - heavenly goal granted a&e per their request for self determination - the triumph of good vs evil - is for those who accomplish the goal and are judged for admission to the heavens. told which in fact they accomplished. very doubtful a desert dweller need apply.

physiology is limited - how about the spirit freeing itself before that happens or is what does happen when the metaphysical physiology dissipates back into the atmosphere ... some may wakeup on the other side having lived the good life.
