Whites with no college degree 72%

Sometimes the pay increase makes job hoping worthwhile. Additionally, some companies hire peoples not to use them but to make sure the other guy doesn't use them. Seems a waste to me.
Depends on the job--in my example, I said 'trades.' Tradesman wages do not vary much.

I knew people in college who were dumb as a rock and I'm sure you did too. I also know lots of people without degrees who are some of the smartest, most innovative people ever.

True. Like the proverbial professor who can tell you exactly how a carburetor works but cannot even point one out under the hood. Yet you can go into a local bar and find a guy on a bar stool who has more common sense than the people running our government.

2 weeks notice should be changed to 2 days. Ones employer doesnt own their employees. There neednt be respect shown.

Ive had my boss at an old company become my boss at a new company twice in my life. I am an advocate of not burning bridges.

This is the umpteenth thousandth thread where right wingers fantasize about the dumb college kids being broke cuz they got a degree in Music and cant get a job - By the way, I have a chart that shows you are way better off with a Music degree below.

College educated unemployment is a fraction of no college unemployment.

The rule is, if you can find a way to afford it, college is your best ticket to the shrinking middle class. There are other ways to find your way there, and some do, but they are harder and statistically less successful. It's all just probabilities.

Until I was 28 years old and well into my career, I did not even have a college degree. Now I have a doctorate, and yet I am no smarter (intelligence) now than I was before I got my degree.

I love how anti college Republicans are. Yet most Republicans send their kids to college.
Republicans are too trusting. They should never send their kids to these Communist Indoctrination Centers.
I never had kids so I didn't have to make that choice. But I would have encouraged them to go to a trade school.
Did you know that a college degree is worth $1 million dollars? It is. A college educated person makes about $80K. The median income in the USA is $50K. $30K a year x 30 years is $1 million dollars.

Faulty figures there. :icon_rolleyes:
Plus the fact, you have to subtract the horrendously expensive loans for the grossly overpriced college experience that leaves a lot of grads essentially broke for years.
Here is another interesting fact I just learned

Approximately 4% of all U.S. homicide victims had a college degree or higher.
I don't know what you're trying to prove there other than most college grads don't live in the inner city ghettos where gang bangers commit the vast majority of murders. :icon_rolleyes:

You’re an idiot! My brother is rich. Sent his kids to the same private school mitt Romney went to. Kids from extremely wealthy families. My brother rose to vp of hr at several fortune 500s by going to college.

Listen, it’s simple. The average Joe makes $50k. I make $85k. That $35k a year. Multiply that by 30 years what do you get? A million more.

So you send your kid to trade school if that’s the kind of person he is. Nothing wrong with being a plumber but I certainly wouldn’t push my kid into it unless he was that kind of person.

I was happy to hear my nephews all got into Michigan state university. Heir futures look bright. Would I be as happy if one was going to trade school? No

My own 3 kuds, upon high school graduation, had no other choice that going to college. No going directly to work. No hanging sround home and working. I put money away for them to attend. There were zero other options. Z e r o. No other options made any sense. They benefitted from that. My youngest is 55 and retired. Thats the ultimate goal. Retiring as young as possible.

I'll be honest, I was not good at school. Never was. Had a horrible start and I mastered getting by. You should see the teachers remarks on my report cards. I was a HORRIBLE student. I wasn't planning on going to college. My dad was going to get me a job at Ford. I'll tell you about that later. When I was a senior I worked at a gym. I was Metro Detroit Powerlifting champ and an all state wrestler. The owner was a bodybuilder and stock broker. He couldn't believe how good I was at selling memberships and clothing with the gym's name on it. All the kids in high school worshipped me so they came up and joined. They wanted to be muscular too. Anyways, he said to me one day "when you graduate college come be a stock broker for me". Isn't it funny that one statement stuck with me and set me on course to go to college?

So Eastern Michigan University wrestling coach asks me to wrestle for him. I'm like hell yea. But my grades sucked. He got me in anyways. First semester I got C, C, C, C-. My family was so happy I passed every class. Only one problem, that's under a 2.0 and I'm now on academic probation. If I don't do better next semester I'm out. So I learned how to study and never looked back. I certainly didn't want to fail and come home when everyone else was off getting college degrees.

So it depends on the kid. If one of your kids was dumb, you'd have to figure out a plan B.

I still can't believe I did it. It took me 6 years. LOL. But I'm so glad I have a college degree. It has opened so many doors.

A college degree has become meaningless. If 72% do not have degrees then 28% are college educated dunces.

Who are in the 72%? Rich kids who were born into wealth and so never have to go to college or worry about money? I'm sure Nick Reiner didn't have a college degree.

Most of the poor in America, don't have college degrees. How many of your 72% are poor Americans? Maybe they should have went to college.

28% with college degrees are your bosses. Or they have jobs inside companies you could never get a job. What would you do their plumbing? Shipping?

My buddy got a great job at one of my competitors. He is THRILLED. It's in the shipping department. Good job with benefits, 401K, insurance. But what do you think he makes? $50k?

Receiving Supervisor makes $23 hr. $48,000 a year. That's a GOOD job for someone who doesn't have a college degree.

YES, a lot of people with college degrees only make $23 hr. I'm sure of it. But on average, we make $85K. People without make around $50K. That's just the facts.

50k is not even starting pay.
