Whites with no college degree 72%

Feminist mentality has cause both parents to have to work. Women should be mothers and home makers during their most child productive years.
Laughable. Its the economy. It takes 2 full time to barely hang on. Check reality. Your way is ling outdated. Over. Buh bye

How would you know, you haven't been in the workforce for more years than you spent in it. BTW, I wasn't referring to workers today--the inference was made about you.
I put this in another thread.

There are only 8 countries more productive than US workers (ALL are in much smaller counties than us)
There are only 9 countries that work more hours than US workers over a year (None are more productive than us)

Our workforce is second to none when you combine hours worked AND productivity AND our size.

We have the hardest working workforce in the world.

That's a result of policy choices. THe other poster was clearly making the point that that was a BAD choice.

You citing the result of the choice, that the other poster was arguing against, is missing the point completely.

My own 3 kuds, upon high school graduation, had no other choice that going to college. No going directly to work. No hanging sround home and working. I put money away for them to attend. There were zero other options. Z e r o. No other options made any sense. They benefitted from that. My youngest is 55 and retired. Thats the ultimate goal. Retiring as young as possible.
That was a LONG time ago.
Times have changed.
Radically.

Two income families were the result of American ambition to improve their standard of living. After it became commonplace, it became necessary to maintain that standard. LOL. How many homes had two cars, swimming pools, boats, hot tubs, color TVs, microwaves, internet and computers per capita during those times when a single earner was the norm. Common sense just isn't common anymore.

You’re an idiot!
**** you.
My brother is rich. Sent his kids to the same private school mitt Romney went to. Kids from extremely wealthy families. My brother rose to vp of hr at several fortune 500s by going to college.
Great. So he was wealthy. Far wealthier than the average American. I'm good with that but don't compare that to regular folks in Iowa or Ohio. They shouldn't be automatically sending their kids to Communist Indoctrination Centers for $100,000 a year with ridiculous interest rates.
That's just plain ******* stupid.
Listen, it’s simple. The average Joe makes $50k. I make $85k. That $35k a year. Multiply that by 30 years what do you get? A million more.

So you send your kid to trade school if that’s the kind of person he is. Nothing wrong with being a plumber but I certainly wouldn’t push my kid into it unless he was that kind of person.

Next time you take a giant shit and your toilet won't flush, go ahead and call one of your Humanities or Women's Studies majors from Harvard and see how far they get fixing your problem. :lolly:
I was happy to hear my nephews all got into Michigan state university. Heir futures look bright. Would I be as happy if one was going to trade school? No
That's because you're an elitist, a typical arrogant Democrat.
How pathetic and judgmental you are.

Just an aside, it has only been in the last decade or two that employers started realizing that those fresh out of college WERE NOT as knowledgeable or productive as long-tenured employees that received their education on the job. I was one that was held back for a long time because of my lack of a college education. I saw the change and it was good. LOL

Reality is that feminist thinking diluted wages so now it takes 2 working parents.

50k is not even starting pay.
You seem to be missing the point. That's what the average person in America without a degree makes. $50K. And the average college grad $85K. What about that do you not understand?

So an extra $35K a year x 30 years is 1 million dollar. Don't tell me about the exceptions to the rule. Don't. The numbers are the facts.

That extra $35K a year goes a long way. Often times it's why we can afford to max out our 401K's. So that extra $35K a year is actually more than $35K. Don't forget interest. And my company matches 4%. If you are without a college degree chances are you don't have insurance or 401K's. What's that worth?

I started a thread the other day "when did you settle?" I'll try and find it and invite you to it. Anyone who says they would push their kid to be skilled trade, has settled for their child before that kid has even been born.

A college degree has become meaningless. If 72% do not have degrees then 28% are college educated dunces.
I still can't get over what you just said. So you're saying if the masses, the working poor, the rabble in America don't have degrees then the HAVES who do get college degrees ae dunces? I don't understand that logic.

Sometimes the pay increase makes job hoping worthwhile. Additionally, some companies hire peoples not to use them but to make sure the other guy doesn't use them. Seems a waste to me.
In a good economy, like Biden's, people job hop. In a struggling economy like we have now, people job hug.
Why did Biden have a good economy? Lots of jobs. Companies were hiring. Also, the Great Resignation. After Covid, many many 50 somethings retired. Took their golden parachutes and left the work force. Lots of upward mobility for us Gen Xers. We've been waiting for those old fuckers to retire.

My brother retired at 55. Sat out 1 year now he's consulting part time. He doesn't make $1 million dollars a year anymore being a VP of HR. Now he subcontracts for $200 hr. He could have got $300 but fucked up. Anyways, he's happy. He said this year he made $90K and with his LLC he only paid $4000 in taxes. Not bad. But the point is he made room for some person in their early 50's to get their shot.

And if you got a better job that paid more you beat inflation.

Im all forbdegrees dont get me wrong. Im on your side. There are those here who will twll young people hey 50 grand is an awful good wage, one you should work hard for. In todays america thats false on all levels.

True. Like the proverbial professor who can tell you exactly how a carburetor works but cannot even point one out under the hood. Yet you can go into a local bar and find a guy on a bar stool who has more common sense than the people running our government.
cars no longer use Carburetors.

I confused you for Lockback

He said if he had kids he would push them towards skilled trades. No no son, don't even think about college. I know you are really good at math or computers but don't even think about college. Look at me son. I didn't go and look how I turned out.

So he would hamstring his kid. Force the kid to live in his world view. There is so much more to the world. What happened to the days when parents who didn't go to college wanted their kids to go to college? It's weird.

The world has changed by the way. Think about it. Back when my parents moved to this country, they were willing to come here and do shitty jobs to make a good life for us. Look at young Greeks today in Greece. No ******* way they are going to come here and wash dishes to make a good life for their kids. Today, none of us even want to have kids. Something lockback and I have in common. No kids. Too expensive. Not worth it. I have a dog instead.
