College students overestimate starting salaries by $24,000

I don't know about that. Taco bell general managers make up to 100,000 depending on the region.

No college degree required.
But then you don't get to tell everyone that you went to college.

Most parents today would be okay with it. As long as the kid is working and helping out around the house then it's a win win for the nation
They can hang out as long as they either,

1. Pay for their college or trade school.
2. Save the downpayment on a house (parent should manage that account).

Agreed. Imagine working, saving, getting educated, and having a decent nest egg by age 30 without crazy debt or a spouse. Then it's time to move out. Where's the negative here?

If they marry that might throw a wrench in the cogs.

First year for me was 1980. I remember it was like $6,500. But that was tuition, books, supplies, dorm room, and meal plan that sucked.
$0 for me. I still worked 3 jobs and trained at least 8 hours a day.
