And he has said the shutdown gives his administration an “unprecedented opportunity” to make far-reaching cuts and target programs favored by Democrats. Extending the subsidies for the ACA shouldn’t even be an issue, ending the subsidies should not have been in the reckless, irresponsible legislation passed by Republicans – that legislation and the current shutdown is typical of the right’s insanity and contempt for sound, responsible governance.
Republicans have only themselves to blame, being responsible for increasing healthcare costs for millions of Americans.
