Completely counter-factual. Trump is not suddenly backing the giveaway to insurance providers in order to benet wealthy entrepreneurs, artists, and trustfund babies. He is looking for a way to help ordinary Americans within the framework of Obama, the Democrats being willing to destroy the nation rather than admit what a disaster the ACA has been.

Nothing to do with continuing the massive corporate welfare that the Democrats wanted.

Should this reporting (by multiple news outlets) prove to be true, that trump essentially waited until after the shutdown was over before acquiescing to D's demands on subsidy extensions, my question is.............tell me again, which party was responsible for the government being shut down for so long?

Do you think the concern expressed by congressional R's over their chances of re-election due to trump's stonewalling of the D's request for ACA extension negotiations played a role in the flip flop? If he had agreed to what he appears to be on the cusp of doing in the first place there would have been no shutdown.

There was a shutdown because Schumer demanded it and he had the filibuster that Republicans honored. The time for debating and negotiating ACA extensions was long before.

It was the Democrat's bill. Not a single Republican voted for it. To then turn around and demand that the people who didn't want it in the first place now need to "improve" it (code for fix something that never worked on paper!) is laughable! You were told back when it was passed that costs would sky rocket and you lied to the American people and told them that the ACA would magically "bend the cost curve"!

By the way...the Supreme Court ruling that things in the ACA were unconstitutional isn't "sabotage"! You knew it wasn't constitutional when your side wrote it!
