Where You Can Get Contraceptives After Your Employer And The Supreme Court Refuse To Give Them To You

Aren’t they like 15 bucks for a months supply?

No they aren't.

Especially if it's not for birth control but for a condition like endometriosis or ovarian cysts.

That requires a much more expensive and specialized pill.

Plus add in the cost of the prescription. The woman has to take time off work, lose that pay, then pay for the doctor appointment and the lab fees.

It's not cheap. It's hundreds of dollars to be able to get that prescription.
For endometriosis that is a diagnosis separate from useage for birth control. Hormone therapy, so yeah, that would be covered.

Well, it happened: The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that U.S. employers can refuse to provide their employees with insurance coverage for contraception under the Affordable Care Act because of the eloyer’s religious or moral objection. This decision potentially deprives over 126,000 people of the option to get their birth control method of choice through their employer-provided health insurance coverage. If you’re one of the people affected by this decision, you’re probably wondering how you can avoid paying exorbitant out-of-pocket fees for your birth control method of choice, and/or how you’re going to renew your prescription without the aid of your doctor’s office.

Even more contraceptive resources can be found on Free the Pill. Free the Pill is a campaign setting its sights on making the pill available over the counter in the United States. Until they accomplish that, they’re providing a wealth of information on where you can get your pill online.

A public service announcement for normal people, A kick in the balls to religious and political nutjobs.

How much does a month of birth control pills cost?

Men have to pay for their condoms, I don't see why women shouldn't pay for their pills.

Again, the abortion opponents can't see the forest for the trees. And yes I know this is about birth control. But the subjects go hand in hand. Easy and affordable access to birth control reduces the need for abortion. Sure, you can walk into a pharmacy and buy it...if you can afford it. But hey, let's let the corporations and their Republican party donating board members decide who gets that right.

How hard to get and un-affordable is birth control if you have to pay for it yourself?

The fact that the op said FREE!!!

IT'S ALL FREEEEEE!!!

CAUSE SOCIALISTS ALWAYS CHANT FREEEEEE!!!!!

It really is no wonder why stalin called them useful idiots.

Your feigned ignorance is not becoming. It simply makes you out to be a fool.

Are you saying that Planned Parenthood has closed its doors?

As you know, easy and affordable access to birth control is available everywhere in the country.

Do you doubt that virtually every individual claiming that they cannot afford birth control...has a smart phone?

Insurance will cover the pill if it is for another reason other than birth control. Everyone that goes to a doctor, that works usually takes time off of work. I was in an accident not my fault, I still had to take time off from work. I get kidney stones and I take time off of work for those appointments and I have the tests and go get the prescriptions related to it. Nothing new.

Much ado about nothing.

If you work for a religious organization that opposes the use of contraceptives (1-2% of the workforce?) you simply have to pay retail prices.

If you work for a secular organization that doesn't care one way or another (98-99% of the workforce?) this doesn't impact you in the slightest.

The United States Supreme Court has determined that it is unlawful to force people to violate their legitimate and long-held religious principles.

It was the correct determination.

Don't like it?

Change jobs.

Or shut-the-phukk-up and pay retail prices for your contraceptives.

Whatever.
Incorrect, it was the wrong decision.

The ruling is actually the further erosion of the Framers’ mandate that church and state remain separate behind the façade of ‘religious liberty’ – where in fact no ‘religious liberty’ was in jeopardy, as affording reproductive health services to employees of religious employers in no manner infringes on the religious beliefs of those entities; employees alone would use the services, not the employers.

Moreover, the number of employees adversely effected, no matter how small, has no bearing on the issue – just as ‘find another job’ is in no manner a valid ‘solution.’

It widens the gap between church and state. It places the responsibility squarely on each individual and it becomes their responsibility to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancies. My wife and I paid for our choices to have or not to have children. We took responsibility for our choices and handled it responsibly.
Jones thinks the Church can have no say in government affairs -- and in that, he's right.

However, like all leftists, he believes the government should have a say in Church affairs.

In that, he is dead wrong.

A seven to two decision, not even close and it was the right decision.

Allow me to remind you. As you can see, the USSC actually had seven members that read our Constitution and the Amendments.

The solution is a tax based single payer health care system. Them everyone gets the same coverage and employers have no say in it.
The solution is to get the government the fuck out of the healthcare business.

Yeah, that's really worked well for you hasn't it. Your for-profit health care system is WHY you've lost nearly 140,000 people to this crud. Your entire population is so unhealthy because working people can't afford decent health care.

In Canada and Europe, more than half the deaths were elderly people. In the USA, where nearly half the population is obese, diabetes and heart disease are rampant, Americans are living up to their reputation as the most unhealthy people in the first world.

Requiring employers to provide proper health insurance to the employees is not "prohibiting the free exercise of their religion". It's forcing their beliefs on their employees. That's bullshit. This decision is WRONG.

But here's the thing. If employers can legal decide what their employees health insurance will and will not cover, and discriminate against their female employees, this is the final nail in the coffin of employer based health insurance.

Women are more than 50% of the voters and 90% of women need reproductive health care in their lives.

WELCOME TO SINGLE PAYER, BITCHES.

When has it ever been tried, you congenital moron? The reason people can't afford decent healthcare is the fact that government has driven the price into the stratosphere. 130,000 people died of COVID because it's a deadly disease with no cure, not because we don't have government run healthcare.

The reason Americans have diabetes, heart disease and obesity isn't because we don't have government healthcare. It's because we can't stop stuffing our faces with fat as sugar.

Your brain damage gets worse by the day.

And your insurance company pays for it.

What is your point?

The insurance company won't cover the appointment for the pill if the school or employer won't allow it. So the woman has to pay for the whole thing. Unlike you in your accident.

Yes the pill is covered for medical conditions. It always has been.

The problem with that is when the employer or school doesn't agree with that medical condition. The employer or school still has to approve that pill. Most don't even though the medical documents back up the problem.

Explain to me why nuns should pay for contraceptives.

There are probably a LOT of nuns taking the Pill, because THE PILL IS THE "GO TO" TREATMENT FOR SEVERE MENSTRAL PAIN, MENSTRAL IRREGULARITY, AND OVARIAN CYSTS AND ENDOMETRIOSIS.

MANY OF THESE DISEASES AFFECT WOMEN WHO ARE NOT SEXUALLY ACTIVE AND WHO HAVE NEVER HAD CHILDREN, WITH GREATER SEVERITY. NUNS WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO GET THESE TREATMENTS WITH THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE.
