Should you buy a $230,000 corvette by Chevrolet or buy a

Koenigsegg Jesko for over 2 million dollars?

Watch two over 2-million-dollar cars race the Corvette.

Actually, there is no direct link between cost and speed. The Corvette is essentially a production car, when you buy the Konigsegg, you are paying for the prestige of buying a very limited production all hand-built custom car, that is what you are paying for.

I still like the Bugatti Veyron.

Back in the 60s, a buddy of mine was building 10 second race cars. His cost back then was probably between $10,000-$20,000 making a quarter-million dollar Chevy rather expensive and exotic. Assuming he spent $20,000 back then total cost, that would amount to $190,000 today, still making the Chevy basically a lot of bells and whistles.

The Corvette I mention is supposed to beat the Bugatti Veyron.
How much $$ is the Bugatti?

Again, a lot more, but like I said, you can compare cars on value but you cannot equate cost with speed. A one-off custom made all hand built exotic sport car will always cost a lot more than a production car.

Think of the Vette as a big car company high volume production copy of a top end sport car. From what I saw, the Vette wasn't quite as nice as the others inside nor out, but pretty damn close and still very nice and even edges out the others in the quarter mile and for a whole lot less money because it was built with robots and automation rather than extensive human man-hours.

So it comes down to do you want the prestige of owning a 3 million dollar Konigsegg made just for you with your name on it, or do you just want a production factory made Chevy with a phenomenal top end?

A quarter million still is not exactly chump change for a car.

I appreciate all of what you said. I always wanted a Corvette and drove some of them. Still when the decision was made, I bought cars like Lincolns and Cadillacs. My Cadillac was very fast and had a top speed of 150 mph and was a decent handing car, not a race car. I drove on the same day a Ferrari and a Lamborghini and the Lamborghini was the most impressive. The current Corvette is more examined by Jay Leno who has his on YouTube and really gives a good deep dive into the car.

Truth is that Vettes are not that comfortable. You sit low on the floor like a camaro and they only hold 2 people with no trunk space. Cadillacs are like sitting in your livingroom, and really, who needs to go faster than 150mph?
