When was war declared against Venezuela?

Boat Suspected of Smuggling Drugs Is Said to Have Turned Before U.S. Attacked It

The Trump administration has argued that the summary killing of 11 people it accused of running drugs was legal under the laws of war.

A Venezuelan boat that the U.S. military destroyed in the Caribbean last week had altered its course and appeared to have turned around before the attack started because the people onboard had apparently spotted a military aircraft stalking it, according to American officials familiar with the matter.

The military repeatedly hit the vessel before it sank, the officials added, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter. The administration has claimed the boat was carrying drugs.

The disclosures provide new details about an operation that was a startling departure from traditional drug interdiction efforts, escalating President Trump’s use of the military for matters typically handled by law enforcement. Legal specialists have disputed that it was lawful for the military, on President Trump’s orders, to target and kill drug smuggling suspects as if they were combatants in a war.

Does declaring war against drug smugglers mean we can bomb people in Mexico? Importantly, where is the hard evidence the trump government made about the boat and the people in it?

Vitally, have the Repub's in Congress scheduled hearings on the matter of the government's claimed justification? If not why not?

yes, the dems are no longer interested in Epstein since so many of them are on the lists.
I think you're wrong about that. Besides, the victims certainly still care and we owe them our attention.

President Donald Trump is willing to seize more oil tankers off the coast of Venezuela, a White House official told CNBC on Thursday.

The U.S. seized a tanker on Wednesday that had allegedly transported oil from Venezuela to Iran. The action comes as the White House escalates pressure on President Nicolas Maduro.

The White House official told CNBC that the Trump administration is always looking to enforce the law.

The oil market has been focused on Ukraine peace talks and so far is not indicating a risk of a major supply disruption. U.S. crude oil was last down $1.04, or 1.78%, to $57.42 a barrel. Global benchmark Brent was at $61.11, down $1.10, or 1.77%.

Sources told Reuters earlier that U.S. is expected to target more ships transporting Venezuelan crude in the coming weeks. The Treasury Department updated its Venezuela sanctions list on Thursday to include more than a dozen additional people, companies and tankers.

Obviously the noted chicken hawk, prez Bone Spurs, is trying to get Ven. to react to these provocations to justify taking Venezuela's oil.

Trump was the target in the Epstein affair. Now that that has fizzled, the Democrats have moved on to "affordability".

When you've missed your primary target, you have to move on or "create" another one.

Strange, I didn't know that the field cockade of US seals (or marines) is a red star.

they are engaging in criminal acts, what happens to them is of their own making.
1. Where's the proof? 2. Even if they are transporting drugs, US and international law do not allow for them to be murdered at sea.

Don finally comes clean.

Trump’s open bid for oil from Venezuela reeks of neocolonialism

President Donald Trump escalated his effort to force regime change in Venezuela on Tuesday by announcing a blockade of all “sanctioned oil tankers” coming in and out of the country.

On Truth Social, Trump boasted about the military assets he’s moved into the Caribbean — “Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled in the History of South America” — and promised the pressure campaign would continue until “they return to the United States of America all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us.” On Wednesday, Trump doubled down, telling reporters, “We had a lot of oil there. As you know, they threw our companies out. And we want it back.”

We're going to go to war with Venezuela in order for oil companies to get their Venezuelan assets back?

I say kill the illegal drug manufacturers and runners wherever you can find them. If a foreign government is knowingly part of the drug running business, bomb it. We've been fighting a losing drug war for decades and it's time to go to the source and eliminate it.

Before defeating foreign people you should take under control your own. Otherwise it will be all in vain. And, of course, you'd better have a deal with those foreign countries (if you support people who kill Russians, Russia support people who kill Americans).

No. It is a lie too. Oil companies don't want their assets back, especially this way. Oil is cheap those days and drill is costly (especially if you need to guard taken by force oil fields). And most of companies, value their cooperation with Lukoil (in many places in the world) more than few old oil fields.

My hypothesis is that there are some anti-MAGA guys in Republican party, who want to defeat Trump (and for this goal they want to prevent peace in Europe and start another unwinnable war in jungles). May be it's Rubio's scheme, may be somebody's else.

Trump will get Venezuela straightened out soon. Then Columbia. Then we'll see. Russia can't stop any of it.

We'll see. Given intellectual abilities of American generals I really doubt it.

Oil companies always want access to more oil fields. No one cares about Lukoil, except how to prevent them from selling oil.

True, there are a few moron Never-Trumpers in the Republican party, but they have no power. Rubio is not one. g5000 is one.
After Trump it will probably be JD Vance to carry on with Trump's policies.
