That was an interesting one:
Theyâre going to try to scare people. Theyâre going to try to say that "that Obama is a scary guy." If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl. Iâve seen Eagles fans.
Bearing in mind that you can't hear quotation marks, how about this?

It isn't perfectly clear. However, the issue was Obama talking about how they (presumably Republicans) are trying to scare people - and once they're scared enough, they may be prepared, and feel justified, to bring a gun to a knife fight.
But hey, obviously there's an opportunity in a guy warning against scare tactics to engage in ... more scare tactics.
And no, no one at the highest levels of politics should engage in loose talk like this, not least because some might take the hint and follow up on it, and I, for one, was happy President Obama stayed well clear of the like.
