Happy Black History Month

I don't want a white history month. But it would be nice if the black people would thank us whites for freeing the slaves, ending Jim Crow and segregation. And passing the civil rights act.

But this is what we get for all our efforts.

They were freeing themselves long before white people got involved, but full emancipation was a military necessity during the CW. If you have access to a library, use it. Do you want Black people to send you a check? Would that make you stop hating them?

While true, this does not negate the fact that creating months to celebrate different segments of society divides us, it does not bring us together.

Black history is American history.
