When the Collapse Comes...

Also, it's worthy of mentioning that--hell, just by reading the posts here--when you start trying to organize fellow gun nuts into a cohesive unit, the first thing cletus is going to ask is "Who made you boss?"

This is where the cartoonish fantasies come into play. That somehow, you and your MP10 will gain followers and you'll be some sort of modern day Moses leading people to the promised land and anyone who is "unfortunate" enough to not be in the group better fear for their lives.

Yeah....

You've got some issues with leadership it seems. I don't know if it's pure ignorance or just a very warped view you have of people that don't agree with you, but you might want to take some time and actually get to know people a little more.

No sonny,

I just grew up in the South and know the genus red-neck better than most. The idea that someone would be able to organize them into a soccer team would be easier than the idea that you'd take an armed red-neck and convince him that he's not the leader. This is why red-necks love their guns; it equalizes them in a way that economics does not, in a way that society does not, and in a way that academia certainly has not. It's the same thing religion does; it places you on a pedestal when all other tenants of modern society do not. If you were to look at the Bible belt and super impose the areas that had the most weaponry, the two would mirror one another with the exception of the west where there is a much more legitimate need for weaponry.

As the recognized leader of the Logistics section of our healthcare system, I certainly don't have an issue with leadership...that is humorous in the extreme. If you only knew.

What I was saying is that when you try to form some sort of make-shift survivalist clan and say, "Charlie, I'll stay here in the house; take you and your kid and go patrol the neighborhood and report back to me" Charlie is going to wonder why you get to stay in the house and he and junior are put in harm's way.

This post is chocked full of humbug.

six or eight?

What a despicable world you want to live in as groups of six or eight fight for available resources

In my world we group together, evaluate available resources and decide how to use them for the best

In your world you'd have to look for resources. In my world I already have them and protecting them from morons like you who didnt prepare is the objective.

And how do you plan on obtaining those resources? You going to suck dicks for a bag of flour? Take it up the ass for a round of antibiotics?

You'd be dead inside of a month....

In your sick world you live in a bunker until.......

Eventually you will have to join a society. A society that is pretty pissed at your selfishness

That's kinda a double edged sword, isn't it?

The prepper did without when things were good, in order to secure their future needs.

In this fable come to life, preppers are the ants and society is the grasshopper, dancing and singing away the summer.

It is the world preppers want to live in....Every man for himself

Rather than getting with neighbors and pooling their resources, their post apocalyptic world revolves around chasing away your former friends

Reminds me of an episode of the Twilight Zone

Dont be a dumbass. I think it's been made pretty clear you need to have a minimum of 6 preferably 8 people in order to protect your assets.
Nobody is saying they would go it alone....except you.

From the same guy who sung "If the South Would Have Won, we'd have it made"???? Whatever. The Alamo didn't end too well for those inside by the way.

lol, it ended quite well; they are immortal heroes for freedom and live on in glory, having died to resist tyranny against ferocious odds.

500 years from now people will still speak of the heroes at Thermopylae and the Alamo and others like them, but no one will remember little piss ant cowards like you, dick breath.

Few remember.
Fewer care.

Billions remember and billions care, troll.

SURVIVING IN ARGENTINA

SURVIVING IN ARGENTINA: SHTF

Take note people, this is important. This is one of the things some people feel that oh, it will never happen here, but maybe a couple years from now when everyone disagreeing with the government gets labeled as a terrorist, maybe then people will be singing a different tune.
There’s a law right now the K government in Argentina is trying to get approved, that would make media more… “fair”… . BS aside it would give then control, lawful control of the media, something we haven’t seen since our previous dictatorship in the 70s.
This law would give the government to basically decide who they authorize ( with some BS excuse ) who they authorize to have a license for TV channels and other media. They would control the media plain and simple.
Ms. K said “Freedom of speech doesn’t imply freedom of extortion”.
You see, the K regime considers reporting anything that would tell the truth about their corrupt government “extortion”.
A report questions the ways in which the capital of the presidential couple increased in 150% in one year, according to their own tax report? Extortion!
Another article questions subsidies for 10.000.000 pesos to an illegal company owned by one of their buddies? Extortion!
How about the pharmaceutical company with strong attachments to Mexican drug dealers and local fake pharmaceutical drugs sold in the local market(many of them simply placebos ) and how this same company gave millions to the K presidential campaign? Oh, Extortion of course!
A dictator doesn’t crawl form under a rock or comes to this world through the gates of hell.
No folks, dictators usually get voted into office, at least at first.
Then they try to control everything, they become hungry for power.
And in the end they loose contact with reality. They think they are almighty, like Gods, and when things don’t turn out like they want they become even more violent, capable of anything.

SURVIVING IN ARGENTINA: Self-Defense

These weapons were being used by two criminals recently apprehended in Buenos Aires. They are believed to be members of a gang that specializes in home invasions and were arrested after a car chase followed by a gunfight. They were armed with two 9mm Bersa pistols with an extra large double stack magazine and a 7.5” barrel M4 carbine with laser sights. They also had a radio scanner, probably used to scan police frequencies or communicate with accomplices.

It isn’t uncommon to find these kind of professional criminals also wearing body armor or using disguises, dressing up like policemen. They are usually well armed, well trained and very motivated.

For dealing with this kind of organized criminals, you have to be well armed and well trained yourself if you expect to have a chance at all of winning a confrontation....

Everyone wants to take a knife for granted - but once you are close, a knife is a better weapon than a gun. It's a LONG video, but when you have some time, go watch 'Surviving Edged Weapons' on YouTube. If you want to know how 5 people, (or more)can be killed FAST by 1 guy with a knife, this video will clear things up:

Surviving Edged Weapons - YouTube

...

You need to check this out. Dashcam video of an Oregon trooper shootout on the side of the road.

The guy was pulled over for whatever reason. He then started firing at the trooper who fired back. They guy was hit in the chest. I believe there is a moment in the video where you can see his clothes move so you can tell it's the moment he was hit. Didn't knock him back or anything. He was able to keep firing, then get back in his car. He was hit so severely that he died 1/2 a mile away. Toxicology tests would determine if he had anything in his system that allowed him to take the hit.

This is a perfect example of not only choosing the right caliber but the right load and bullet type. Would love to know what type of round the police officer used. Whatever he had, it didn't have that much stopping power.

That has always been my biggest gripe with the 9MM nato round. It "usually" takes 2-5 hits before death. However, in the event of some sort of calamity, there would probably be an abundance of 9MM rounds readily available.

My own preference is the .45 for pistol and 7.62 (or 308) for rifle. I DESPISE automatic weapons, preferring to hit with first round capability rather than waste precious ammunition. But make no mistake, there ARE times when a .45 is hard pressed to do the job. I've personally seen men keep coming when hit 2 and 3 times (center of mass) with the .45.

Nothing is ever a "given" For example, that officer should have seen IMMEDIATELY (as I did) that the guy had just stuffed his pistol behind his back. Second, when the suspect refused to get back in the car - he should have seen trouble coming and drawn his weapon. Glad the officer survived, but that clown should never have been able to flee the scene.

Bottom line and in a nutshell:

There won't be a 'collapse.'

It might be a bizarre fantasy for some on the right but it's not going to happen.

One should enjoy his firearms at the range and when hunting.

Yes, this is my view also, but in unguarded moments I am not 100% sure.

Im laughing.......thinking of the limpwristers with their wiffle ball bat home defense arsenal.

:2up:GOOD LUCK!!!:2up:

Lots of assholes in here.......offuckingcourse your going to be hunkered down. Wont last 10 minutes in a vehicle while order is being restored. And better bet your ass people are coming to take your shit.

Somebody might get into my house, but they better come armed with RPG's or they're gonna have a real bad day. Multiple fingers on multiple triggers makes it a certainty.

here is what many English use for self defense in their homes skookerbasil . I post it because you mention wiffle ball bats for limp wristers . --- Self-defense nightstand --- Course the retired tony blair has a bodyguard that is armed . She carries a Glock 17 or 19 [the Queen also has armed bodyguards] . Funny because the bodyguard left the Glock in a Starbucks restroom as she spent a penny [took a leak or] . Anyway an employee found the Glock . Just an off topic bit of info , not trying to change the subject of the thread .

Bro......you're not choosing wisely for the situation. Ive got a Saiga 7.62 and about 2,200 rounds. But in a SHTF situation, this is a far far better choice >>>

Dude is using slugs but 00 buck ensures death at anything less than 50 paces and in those situations, it'll be a lot less distance. Only one shot too by the way!!!

Nice shotgun, no doubt. Steel plates don't shoot back. I'll take my chances with my AR-10 or my Remington 700 with the Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50mm Rifle Scope (in those trees in front of the shooter) any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Once I put on my Ghillie and hit the woods - it's over. And isn't that point of it all? I've had bucks walk within 20 yards of me. Easy pickings.

The problem with slugs ( or even .00) is that they pattern only slightly larger than the average pistol - the odds of missing are nearly as good as with a pistol. Personal preference for home defense? An AR-15 with a 30-40 round magazine and a decent TAC light. But that's me..... :D

aint that the truth

in the hurricane that hit the north east coast a couple of years ago

the people had been so trained to rely on the government

that they froze until the government showed up with matches

to start a fire

i mean really the most basic of needs heat

they could not pull it off

couldnt be the least bit prepared to carry a zippo or matches

and they knew what was coming

I have to admit.......it'd be almost worth it to risk your life to go to the supermarkets to see the looks on the faces of the far left when they show up and the shelves are empty!!:ack-1::ack-1:. Could you imagine how much fun that would be?:2up:

Perhaps.....it really is a matter of personal choice. Still, I like the idea that if you do hit your target with 00 buck, the target is hitting the floor within 2 seconds with whole organs gone and sitting in the wall or across the street!!

Anyway.....00 buck damage at about 20 paces here :eek::eek:>>>>
